Rail Fest Show - 3/18/17

Roy Harris stands behind the manifold piping that supplies compressed air to run the many steam engines he has on the tables for display. This one is his largest one for the table display that he acquired many years back.
This is the club's passenger car which was built-up from a kit that Mountain Car Company sold(which is now Titan Trains). The passenger car is definitely what you would call a heavy weight.
The gondola on display is lettered for the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western RR. This is an electric powered steeple cab engine that was built by George E. Davidson, a member of our club till his passing and eventually acquired by Ken Brooks who currently is our club president.
The scratch-built wooden caboose is also owned by Ken Brooks. Mike Harkleroad brought the tender he is working on that has all the rivet holes drilled out which will soon be a labor of love to set the rivets.
The table top engines and power plants caught the eyes of many as they passed by our tables. Kitty Shriver and Paul Zorko having a discussion as Roy behind the table answered questions about the engines and the large scale (1 1/2" to the foot or 1/8th scale) hobby.
Ken stayed in the display area and was answering questions about our trains that the attendees would pose. Roy had quite a few of the small engines running on air from the manifold where he could adjust the air for speed of the engine.
The little steam engines garnered attention at this end of our display and at the far end we had video of our engines running on our track at Penitentiary Park and other track sites. Alot of attendees just watched the engines running.
Rosemary from the Park Service brought in a display of pictures taken at Penitentiary Glen and answered any questions about the Park. A view of the display we had from the opposite end of the tables.
Workers "manning" the table take time for a photo and this is Jen Zorko our club V.P. and John Deptowicz our webmaster for our club website. Rosemary posed with Judy Oscker for this picture in front of her display.
Our member, Jonathan Shaffer from Wattsburg, Pa. took time from helping out at our display for a photo. Logan Tapolyai, one of our teenage club members, helped out at the display area for a while.
Dick Clark sitting by Roy as they discuss the little engines and the hobby in general. Dick Clark let me take a good picture of him and he seems to be enjoying the Rail Fest Train Show.
