The engine maintainance crew put the engine up on the lift to check the hoses and hydraulic motors for a suspected fluid leak. Frank Smoley and Wayne Boron found the problem which turned out to be the truck's front hydraulic motor is leaking around the end cap. |

They lowered the engine and took off the body cowling to check if there are any more areas that need to be attended to. At the ballast pile the track crew was loading the ballast car using the front end loader. |

Years back we used to shovel the ballast into 5 gallon pails and load them into gondolas, then at the location lift them back out and spread the stone along the track. Now that we are years younger, this is the easier way. |
