Judson Elliot and Ken Brooks look over the 2 1/2" scale Shay that Sean Roberts brought to our Open Meet. Sean is doing a nice job in the building of his Shay geared locomotive.
Marcel Uhrich brought his 2-8-0 Consolidation and was filling to tender with water in preparation to raising steam in the boiler. Marty Knox from Michigan brought his 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler steam engine that he named "Green Goddess", with Alan Francis II and his dad Alan Francis watching.
Frank Foti with his 4-6-2 Pacific steam engine East Wind, which is in the process of building steam pressure up in his boiler. The "Green Goddess" is building steam pressure in the boiler as Marty continues to get everything ready.
Sean is filling the water tank on his Shay in preparation for a pressure test of the boiler which is done with water not air. A view of the steaming bays with Mike Harkleroad as he prepares to do the boiler test on Sean's Shay.
Fotis' Lil' Jake reposes in the sun on one of the steaming bays with a hat over his smokebox to keep the sun out of his eyes. The Consolidation sits on the steaming bay track waiting for Marcel to lite a fire in the firebox.
Sean Roberts also brought his electric powered boxcab that is sitting on a siding in front of the water tower. East Wind is rearing to go with a full head of steam with safeties lifted venting the excess pressure.
Paul Emch having just passed by Shriver Station stops to talk to Marcel before parking his engine on a siding ahead. A familiar sight is Ken Vendlinger at the controls of the Reading switcher and train, that now Emch owns.

Sean's Shay passed the boiler test and now has the firebox glowing with burning coal and a blower on the smokestack creating a draft for the fire. Marcel running #908, his Consolidation steamer, through the switches in front of the steaming bays by the station.

Tom Bee is in attendance with his trailer full of supplies and has an abundance of helpful ideas for any of your problems. Judson Elliott is about to take a visitor for a ride with his scratch-built engine he put together.
Alex Bruchac, part owner of the Pennsylvania boxcab, is about to leave the station with a friend riding behind him. Ben Roberts as engineer of their boxcab powered train, with his dad Sean riding behind, leave the station running eastbound.

The cake that was made for dessert after the cookout to commemorate our Summer 2017 Open Meet. East Wind resting on the mainline approach to the station with an eight passenger car consist which is over eighty feet of cars.
