Paul Emch sits astride his Nickel Plate engine waiting for Frank Foti with East Wind, his Pacific steam engine, blowing the whistle as he departs the station. With Paul's passengers loaded on his train he departs Shriver Station.
Ken Brooks, our club vice president, starts his run as he moves out of the siding at the end of the station with his passengers. John Reba with his GP9 engine starts his first run of the day with a train load of passengers.
Dick Clark with his SW1500 diesel engine pulls away from the loading area with a full complement of passengers. I was fascinated by the amount of ink on this lady as she passed me by, departing the station.
Frank has been given the "All Board!" call and he prepares to depart the station. John with his GP9 passes by me and he has Lou DeLembo as his conductor riding on the rear of the train.
Ken's passengers give a wave as they pass by Pandora on their way to Shoe and the Covered Bridge. Ken Vendlinger gives a wave as he approaches Cider Bridge. .
John coming up the slight grade from the Covered Bridge as he heads towards Zip Junction. Paul is all smiles as he passes through Zip Junction as he nears the end of his run.
Dave Waldman with his RS 3 diesel has just passed through the Truss Bridge and will start the grade up to Mackey's Run. Next to come by was Frank with East Wind as he approached the Truss Bridge.
Mike Harkleroad running the Camelback steamer has just come down the grade from Hilton as he heads towards Fern. Mitch Lane at the controls of his Pacific steamer coasts down the grade as he passes by Hilde Hill.
John Koontz with the park engine at the same location but from the other side of the track coasts by the photographer. Mike with his happy passengers crossing Gulch Bridge which is at the bottom of the 3 1/2+ percent grade up to High Creek.
Mitch was next to come by on Gulch Bridge adding to the smoke from his engine which hung in the air just above the track. John was following at some distance back but the air had cleared before he got to the same location.
Paul just passed over the diamond at Gulch as he coasts down grade with his trainload of passengers. Next to show up in the viewfinder of the lens was John with his diesel just above Gulch.
Dick Clark just passed Hilton and is applying the brakes as his train starts down the grade towards Hilde Hill and Fern. Next to come along was Dave who passed over the Branch Line crossing and is at Hilde Hill.
Mike sitting on the tender of the Camelback in front of the steaming bays as he checks the engine out gives me a smile. Ken starting his next run with the clubs GP 38 as he heads for Short.
Paul departing Shriver Station on mainline track number 2 and it looks to be a lot of people standing in line yet waiting for a ride. Roberta Uhrich was assisting at the unloading area and helping the riders to get a picture of them on a train with their cameras.
Joe Zuchowsky took over the controls of the clubs GP38, giving Kenny a break as he is starting his 1st run today. Paul puts his train in motion as he departs the station with Joe sitting behind his engine waiting to be loaded with passengers.
A low angle shot of Joe as he checks his control box before moving his train away from the station on his next run. With everything checked out a way he goes off on his next run with his passengers.
Frank's train has been loaded and he is starting to move out with East Wind on his next run. Of course he had to blow the whistle and you can just see the steam vapor by the big drivers.
Frank Smoley with his train has taken on passengers and is ready to depart the station. John waits as Jen Zorko gives riding instructions to the passengers before they depart the station with Pam Znidar as the conductor riding on the last car.
Frank arrived back at the station and is in conversation with his riders along with Roberta, as they disembarked from the train. John is coasting to a stop as Frank is ready to pull ahead to get another load of passengers.
Bill Deptowicz, the photographer, got pressed into being a conductor and when arriving back at the loading area got photo bombed by Dave Woldman. It's been a long day and Bill and Dave can still smile for the camera as the train is loaded with passengers.
