7.20.05 Work Session

Today we are working on the Branch Line at Bruce where we are putting in two switches and a crossing for sidings at the picnic area. Dick Clark and George Davidson are moving the switch out of the way.
The switches will be coming off the passing track at Bruce, still to be installed.Dick is checking out the switch at beginning of passing track as Bill Deptowicz levels the grade for the siding switch.
Bill placing ties on the ground ahead of the passing siding switch. Paul Emch and Dave Foster are screwing the pre-bent rail down coming out of that switch.

The first siding switch is in position and rail filled in between. This picture shows both switches in position and how the crossing will be formed to get the sidings into our narrow space.

Frank Foti and Paul continue with the tie placement and rail fastening. Dave is taking a break to stretch out his knees as Dick files the end of a cut rail.
Paul and Frank continue to fasten down the rail between the two siding switches. Dick, Dave and Ray Dellmore are watching as the work progresses. Time to head for the station for a break.
Everyone was teasing that the plate girder bridge looked like the Lionel one so Dick Clark put the letters on it for Lionel.Giving credit for the building of the bridge and the date we got it.

The frog and salamander pond is finished, seeded with grass around the perimeter and the snags and rocks are in place. Water is starting to fill the pond.
