East Wind under steam has his safety lifted as Frank Foti makes last-minute adjustments before moving the engine out onto the turntable. Mike Harkleroad getting George Metts' camelback engine ready to light a fire in the firebox to raise steam.
On another steaming bay Skip Frank has the exhaust blower on top of of the exhaust stack of his engine "Lynn" as he prepares her for the run. Frank turning East Wind after having run the engine out on the turntable from the steaming bay he was using to take the incline track down to grade.
The trains are lining up in front of the station in preparation for the run and Frank his backed his train up on the siding at the loading area. Today we are having a night run in conjunction with the Parks Glow-a-Palooza and the public are in line waiting for a ride on the trains.
Skip tends to his steam engine as Scott Hewis gives a wave to the photographer as he pulls out of the station on his first run of the evening. Ted Nyland as he approaches Hemlock with his passengers astride his interurban will soon start down the grade from Hilton through Gulch and Hilde Hill.
Ken Brooks, our club president, making his mandatory check out run before he starts hauling passengers around the track is at Hilton. Soon you will hear the familiar clickety-clack of the train wheels as Frank with his train goes over the crossing on the mainline at the Branch Line intersection at Hilton.
Scott coming up the grade at High Creek with his train with Linda Harris on the rear car as his conductor. Rick Nagy as engineer with the club's GP38 is just passing over the intersection for the Branch Line and Judy Oscker is his conductor.
A view from the outside of the curve shows Paul Zorko with his train as he passes by the same point, the crossing of the Branch Line. Dick Clark starting down the grade past Hilton and that's the South Yard Lead track that merges into the mainline in the foreground.
Judson Elliott with his train and passengers is on the switch that leads to the South Yard Lead track as he descends the grade through Gulch. Scott on another run as he passes over Big Wash Bridge on his way to Hilton and points west.
As Skip heads for Hilton, he passes by the fallen aspen with his load of passengers which is only a few minutes into the run. Ted as he passes through Hemlock will soon start the grade down that ends at Fern and shortly will pass through the Truss Bridge.
Scott with his train has just passed through Drudgery and will soon be passing through Hemlock. A view of the station as the trains come in, load their passengers and prepare to move out after having unloaded their passengers from the prior run.
Paul departing the station and you can see the luminous hoops that the Park was handing out to the riders and they were wearing them around their head. Dick waiting for Kevin Harris, in the yellow shirt, to finish loading his train so he can depart the station.
Karl Losely sitting in the chair, was our passenger counter for the evening and that's Judson walking up to his engine and will soon load passengers for his next run. Skip finishes taking on water for the tender of his steam engine while Kevin has just finished loading him.
Scott with a full complement of passengers is all loaded and is just starting to depart the station with Linda as his conductor. The Snoopy train with John Deptowicz as engineer departs the station and you can barely see the ground effects lighting he has on the "doghouse" engine because of the flash from the camera.
Frank took on water in the tender and is now firing his engine before he departs the station after receiving an "All Aboard!" call from Kevin. Paul in front of the station at the unloading area watches as his passengers depart the train with the help of Pam Znidar who is in the other light gray hat.
Ken rolling to a stop at the unloading area with his passengers at the end of his run. Ted coming into the station on track two as he heads for the unloading area with his passengers.
Skip, coming into the station with his passengers has just passed over the switch which is set for track two as he comes into the station. On the Orchard Loop behind the station Austin Tapolyai with his brother Logan as engineer were enjoying riding on the Toby train.
John Koontz at the controls of the club's GP38 as he comes into the station at the end of his run will soon be unloading passengers. Scott on the curve of the mainline, advances into the station as he nears the end of this run with this trainload of passengers.
John with his Snoopy train and Woodstock sitting on the headlamp as they come in around the curve behind the station with less than a minute to their run. Frank just passing through Sharp is almost directly behind the Orchard Station as he nears the end of his run.
Ted just emerging from the Truss Bridge as he's about to pass over the grade crossing and start the grade up to Mackey's run. Scott on the Main Line just passed the Short Line switch, has just departed from the station a minute ago.
