1.01.07 New Years Day Run

>
Once again the now traditional breakfast before our New Years Day Run was held at the home of the Uhrich's for club members and friends before our run at the Park.
Without using flash it took on the setting of a candlelight dinner. Mike our gracious chef and co-host made sure that the serving counter was kept full of food.
Our hosts for this gala event Mike and Roberta Uhrich in the kitchen. Rex Shriver and Ray Dellmore sharing some time and stories in the family room.
Robbi Haines, Chet and Audrey Roberts, Sue and Jerry Bell, Mark Ross and Mary Lou Schmidt. Victoria and Linda Harris, Barbara, Edith Hacker and Emily Kutscher
Harold Sicherman and Jeff Klein share in conversation at the breakfast table. Roberta, Mike, Kitty Shriver, Chet Roberts and Pam Znidar take time out to pose for the photographer.
Kathy Losely and Dave Foster in the hallway. Chet and Audrey Roberts looking through the Uhrich family photo album.
In the family room Karl Losely, Roger and Patti Harnish and Marcel Uhrich are all smiles for the New Year. Dick Clark, Edith Hacker, Roberta and Rogers daughter Lori.
Rick Nagy, Dave Foster and Roger Harnish chomping at the bit waiting for our New Years Day Run to begin. It was good to see Harold, one of our founding members, up and about with Dick wishing him a Happy New Year.
Robbi Haines, Bridget Murphy and Sandy Saffell. Time to head out to the track where we find Paul Emch has coupled two rider cars to an engine and is backing into the station for someone to run the train.
Matt Philpott brought his trolley and was fielding questions about the power train for the interurban. With one passenger aboard Matt opens the throttle on his electric powered interurban.
Meanwhile Jon Jaros has unloaded his Northern that is under construction and is sitting on the track next to the car barn. A view of the flue pipes at the smoke box end.
A view of the pilot from track level. This is the first time we have seen the chassis with the boiler mounted on it and it makes a very imposing image.
A side view of the 4-8-4 Northern with the cast stack just sitting on the smoke box. A three quarter view showing the backhead of the fire box and the stays in the firebox sides.
The cylinder and pony truck showing his progress to date. A close-up of the running mechanism and that will all have to be painted, a chore in itself.
Paul Emch, an unidentified interested party, Craig Marshall taking movies and Norm Stanek watch the trains. Jerry Bell, Dave and Jackie Schweitzer and Pam Znidar as they pass through Horrendous.
George Davidson with his scratch-built electric cab and Joe Banzer as they approach Zip Junction. Jerry, Dave and Pam at the crossing for the Parks' access road.
Skip Frank, Dave Foster, George Metts, Rob Frank and his son Josh and Norm Stanek watch the trains. Paul Emch, Frank Foti and Dick Philpott share in New Years Greetings.
Craig Marshall taking video of Dick Clark, Ron Trenhaile and Karl Losely on the club engine. One of our signal masters, Dick Philpott on Matts' interurban and reaching for the block signal.
Jon pulling his Northern chassis getting some time on it and its starting to rain hard. It is raining harder and unfortunately for Dick, Jon is running slow on the wet rails. Two guys are about to really get wet.
Jerry and Pam head for the siding by the steaming bays and you can see the rain coming down. Jon back at the station...all wet, his Northern will probably get a rub down.
