Virginia Sales and Linda taking some of the goodies that Roberta provided containers for. By the time I got out of their driveway and drove to the park this is the sight that greeted me.....Lotsa snow.
The snow was so deep that we couldn't get our engines out of the barn but Sean Roberts brought his engine and Kevin Harris is helping push it through the snow. The snow made it rough for the little engine to get traction.
Talk about a blustery snowy day, this was New Years Day. As members tried to keep warm against the chill of the blowing wind the guys were trying to figure the best way to clear the track of the snow.
As the others watch Frank Foti makes a snowball to throw at the photographer. At times the snow was quite heavy as you can barely make out Pam Znidar uder the station house roof.
A view from the parking lot at the activity going on in front of the station. A view from Zip Junction at our snow covered bridge which won't see a train through it today because of the drifting snow.
Another view of the covered bridge with hardly any snow inside of it. View of the Truss Bridge and the Justin Tyme Bridge using the flash on the camera to accentuate the heavy falling snow.
With Sean loading up his engine with his "weight", Kevin in the gondola, mans the "snow removal equipment" as they try to get up the grade from Zip Junction through Short to the main line. Finally the track was cleared all the way in to the station.
Looking from the station at the main line with is normally the end of the run for the trains to unload. Sean with Danielle Atkin about to take another trip around the track.
Pam Znidar provided these two photos of the station and the steaming bays taken on Jan 30th when all was calm.
