Public Run - 10/05/14

You can tell today's on the cool side by the steam vapors shrouding Frank Foti and East Wind as they come into the station making his mandatory shakedown run. Scott Hewis is the engineer of the GP38 as Mike Harkleroad sits across the cab unit blowing the leaves off the track.
The leaves are an ever growing problem as fall nears and every week we have to remove them from the track, generally on work sessions but today is a public run. We had so much rain lately that the mushrooms, these up in the yard, grow in the darnest places as these were in between the tracks.
Dick Clark as he's leaving the station with the first group of passengers for today's run and everyone's bundled up against the chill of the air. Paul Emch is running his Nickel Plate Road's SW9 switcher today and is just leaving the station.
John Deptowicz with Snoopy train crosses Cider Bridge as he heads back into Shriver Station. Ken Brooks running the club's Nickel Plate Road switcher has just passed through Zip Junction and will be soon crossing over Cider Bridge.
Frank emerging from the Covered Bridge with East Wind as he heads up the slight grade to Zip Junction with his passengers. Scott Hewis was the next to come along at the same location but going in the opposite direction as he passed by the photographer.
Dick Clark passing through Zip Junction with Logan Tapolyai as his conductor on the rear with his bundled up passengers as they head back towards the station. Skip Frank on the slight grade towards Zip Junction after emerging from the Covered Bridge.
Ted Nyland with his interurban's on the crossing at Zip Junction as his passengers give a wave as he heads towards Horrendous. John with the Snoopy train passing through Zip Junction will soon be rumbling over the grade crossing for the Park Access Road.
Scott gives a wave as he comes off of the Truss Bridge and I believe that's Lew Fowler as his conductor on the rear as the train heads for Mackey's Run. Dick having picked up another load of passengers at the station, just passed through the Truss Bridge at the bottom of the hill with Logan as his conductor.
Frank having passed through Fern heads towards the Truss Bridge with his happy load of passengers. Paul Zorko just passed through Hilde Hill and is running over Bridge Number 6 with his Fireball Express train.
Richard Sales all bundled up trying to keep warm as his train passes over the wooden grade crossing for the Park Access Road just off of the Truss Bridge. Skip Frank with his steamer Lynn as he heads for the Big Bend Bridge with his passengers.
No I'm not standing on a ladder, when you're 6 foot 3 you just look down on the world and this is Ted rumbling across the Big Bend Bridge. Mike Harkleroad is engineer of the GP38 as he rounds the gentle curve at Pandora on his way towards Shoe and the Covered Bridge.
Tom Reder behind the fire ring watches as Frank tends to his steam engine as the safety on East Wind lifts. Frank having just unloaded his passengers starts to move forward to the loading area as his safety lifts on Lynn with the steam vapor filling the air.
Jerry Bell watches the proceedings as Greg Guy loads the train powered by the Park engine with Ron Malinowski as engineer. Tom Reder tending the fire and trying to keep warm.
Ken the engineer of the NKP club's engine waits for Greg to finish giving riding instructions to the passengers before he starts his run and that's Valerie Bilchak as his conductor. Ted departing the station with another load of passengers and the line looks like it's winding down.
Jerry Bell leaves the station checking over the gauges on his control car and that's Harry Tabor as his conductor on the rear. After having his train loaded with passengers, Ron accelerates the train out of the station with Dave Woldman as his conductor.
No that's not Dapper Dan, but it is Don Speidel compete in a black coat and black top hat admittingly looking very dapper as he is about to leave the station. Bill Deptowicz running the Snoopy train passed through Pandora and will be soon heading for Shoe and the Covered Bridge.
The rain did bring out several different species of fungi as this was on a log by the Covered Bridge. Jerry Bell just emerging from the covered Bridge with his passengers and Logan as conductor on the rear as the train heads towards Zip Junction.
Scott is all smiles as he emerges from the Covered Bridge with his passengers and that's Dave Hird as his conductor as they head for Zip Junction. Bill and Snoopy train as he passes Pandora as he heads towards Shoe and they look like they're definitely enjoying the ride.
Dave Woldman is the engineer and has just passed over Cider Bridge and that's Valerie as his conductor as they head back to the station. Next to pass by was Ted with his interurban's as his riders pose for this picture as they pass by.
Looks like these riders are enjoying the train ride as they are about to pass through Shoe and into the Covered Bridge on Clark's train. Dapper Don as he passes by Shoe with his passengers is not quite at the halfway point of the ride.
