10.07.07 Public Run

Looks like a mid-summers day except for the long shadows being cast and it isn't even noon yet. The cars are being set out in groups to be made up into trains when the owners of the engines couple up to them.
Don Speidel moves another car off the transfer table to the yard track that has other cars on it. The members gathered around the tables at the station with a few starting to eat lunch that is being served.
There's activity in the steaming bay area as Bob Beardslee at left and Karl Losely at right fill their engines with water as Skip Frank in center and the right hand photo has "Lynn" under steam.
Karl is adding the kerosene soaked coal to the firebox on the Hudson to start the fire. A little later Skip waits for Roger Harnish and Robbi Haines to load his train as George Woodling moves his train out of the loading area.
As George passes me leaving the station I see Lou DeLembo is the conductor for this train. Paul Emch is on his switcher and Bill Besselman is in discussion with Mile Uhrich with his boxcab as Roger loads passengers.
Judson Elliott starts his run loaded with passengers and George Davidson as conductor. John Deptowicz is waiting with his Snoopy engine for a few more passengers to be loaded.
Rick Nagy is all loaded and Ray Dellmore is his conductor for this run. Bill talks to some passengers as Marcel Uhrich looks over his shoulder to see how Roger is loading his train.
George checking the loading of his train as Roger gives riding instructions to the passengers. Bill, with back to us, watches Dick's train leave with Lew Fowler as conductor and Mike with his Boxcab waiting to load.
Dave Schweitzer with his electric powered switcher leaving the station with his passengers. Rex Shriver followed Dave with his Roll Models Switcher that has the sound package in it.
The large and small of it, the Hudson and the Columbia at the station side by side. Dick Clark about to depart the station with his charge of passengers.
Mike behind the station passing over the switch for trains to stay on the mainline or enter the by-pass track behind the station. Tom Pappas in the same general area coming off Festival Bridge.
Ray Dellmore as engineer for the Park engine rolls onto Cider Bridge with his train. Rick Nagy takes the curve between Pandora and Shoe with the GP38.
Robbi is loading Dick's train and Marcel will be conductor for this run which is near the end for the public run. Pam Znidar and Jerry Bell coast into the station with the GP38.
Josh Frank taking Dave Fosters speeders for a ride behind the station on the by-pass track. Bob Beardslee was having a problem with his steamer and didn't haul passengers today.
Ray Adams, Sue Knox, Roger Harnish and Mike Uhrich sitting on the grade wall watching the trains coming into the station. Cornelius Gould at the controls of the club engine getting a "feel" for the operation of it.
Riding Dick's train on the Branchline through the cut we had dug to ease the grade. Ted Nyland going over his interurbans and checking out the batteries in the yard behind the storage shed.
Marcel giving the Hudson a wipe-down with a rag saturated with kerosene really making her shine. Skip aligns the turntable with the track to back his engine onto the steaming bay after having dropped the fire.
