10.07.09 Work Session

Tom Reder and Dick Clark are dressing off the ballast on the track by Cider Bridge as Rick Nagy blows the leaves off the track on this overcast day. Edith Hacker was picking up branches in the Orchard Yard.
Rick getting the wheel chock after backing in the siding at our gravel storage. Ken Brooks removing the screws for the crossing as George Woodling "hams" it up to put pressure on the screw driver Ken is holding.
Wally Pausch and Ken trying to force the boards up as the screws won't back out of the rotting wood. After removing the boards Wally and George clean out the mud between the ties as Ken watches the progress.
George attaching the rail to a new tie as Wally watches. Work progresses on cleanup and checking the quality of the existing ties.
George tries to stretch his legs as Ken looks for some longer screws. A view of the crossing and the re-ballasted track between the crossing and Zip Junction.
Don Speidel and Paul Emch were doing car inspections on the club and members equipment as Mike Harkleroad watches. Over at the equipment lift Lew Fowler and Joe Banzer were doing maintainance on the Park locomotive.
Edith cleaning branches that fell on the track in the yard behind the Stanek Carn Barn. Dick Clark is cutting the existing rail for the insertion of a new switch in the yard lead to the mainline as Rick and Tom watch.
A view from the other side as Rick connects the rail joiners. Dick watches Rick and Tom adding ties under the rail splices and this project is complete for today. A good work session all in all.
