Work Session- 10/07/2012

The public run today is doubtful as it's raining and Edith Hacker, Adam Pakeltis and his grandpa Bob Pakeltis, George Metts, Steve Blotnick, Kitty Shriver, Pam Znidar and I, Bill Deptowicz the photographer took refuse in the station where it was warm, from the damp and cold rain outside. Kitty had brought a lot of the T-shirts, pullovers and jackets that were ordered by some of the members.
Ken Brooks looking discouraged after just having told the Park that we are officially canceling the run today because of the weather. Ken's heading home as Tom Pappas looks to the sky for the darkening clouds that are moving in, this weather doesn't look like it's going a blow over.
Lew Fowler, John Koontz and Bill Besselman showed up for the run and are smiling despite the rain. This is the first public run this year that we've had to cancel because of the weather. The guys enjoying a cup coffee before they take off as everyone's preparing to leave.
Dick Clark, Richard Sales and Mike Harkleroad enjoy a conversation before they decide the take off too. Ted Nyland and George Metts are behind the station tables with Dick, Richard and Mike out front as I stand in the rain and take this picture, Oh well!
When it dries out we will have to get the wet leaves off the track as this view shows part of our yard trackage. They have to be fast-growing toadstools because the track is used more than that as this one is leading into the storage barn.
A view looking at Horrendous from the Park access road on a cold, dreary, rainy day that spoiled our fun today. Ted and Marie Nyland brought plants and fertilizers for her to plant ferns and such along the track even though it's raining.
Marie and Robbie Haines talk under Robbie's umbrella as it continues to rain and the plants in the foreground are some of what Marie has planted in the past. As I headed home I came across this beautiful red Maple in full fall colors even though it was raining so I stopped and got out of my car and took a picture. Enjoy.
