Hobo Stew/Club Run

Joe at the controls as he leaves the station. With the food cooking in the pot over the fire and with plenty of time on our hands alot of the members got to catch up on old times.

As Ken brought the engine out of the by-pass track towards the main line East Wind decided to pick the points of a switch so her front truck came off the tracks. Judson Elloitt at Horrendous with his family.

The cauldron of the Hobo Stew is hung over the fire as members and guests enjoy some of the warmth of the fire. Bob and Rachel Beardslee study the lapping flames of the fire on the bottom of the cast iron cauldron, seemingly mesmerized.

Does the stew look done? We have everything in there but the kitchen sink and of course we have the secret ingredient. Roy Harris weaving some stories about when he was a cook in the Confederate Army in 1894.
Joe and Dave in a discussion as they watch the goings on of the acton around the cauldron. John, George and Tom are just waiting for the dinner bell to sound after waiting around most of the afternoon for that pot to cook.
Our cook extradordinare, Robbi Haines, who comes up with the ideas for the Hobo Stew and cooks for our work gangs during the Wednesday work sessions. It's been acclaimed the food is done and the line begins to form.
Robbi, Kathy and Karl Losely are serving and Rick and George are next in line. In our station kitchen area Bill Besselman is looking over all the goodies for dessert that we will have to choose from.
It looks like it was worth the wait as some of the members and guests have finished and are having dessert. Everyone seems to enjoy the food and even Robbi is smiling.
Even more smiling faces with alot of empty bowls in front of them and there was plenty left even after seconds. John, Ethan and Amy Deptowicz with Jonathan Schwartz head for the loading area as we have a club meeting at 7 p.m. to attend.
