Club Run - 10/11/14

Greg and Cory Guy look over Bob Craig's diesel engine as it idles on the siding track by Shriver Station. Chris Cooper has just offloaded his train and it sits on a yard track behind the Stanek Car Barn waiting for him to park his vehicle before the engine is called to duty.
Bob chose to use a a real diesel engine and it has that unmistakable loping sound as it sits on the track and idles complete with a functional radiator. Bob talking to George Metts just before he takes a guest for a ride out on the mainline.
With two way running for the mode of operation today Paul Zorko is arriving back at the station with a guest on his Fireball Express. Chris Cooper with his wife Dena as they come back in to the station eastbound from their trip around the track.
Dave Woldman and Valerie Bilchak in conversation with Chris as he describes how he has four motors and four speed controllers for control of his engine. Dick Philpott at the controls of Joe Laskowski's interurban with Alex Bruchac as his passenger as they depart the station.
Richard Sales coming into the station with his engineless (new word) train powered by his motorized riding car intended to be a helper engine in a train. A view inside his helper engine riding car that's full of batteries, speed controllers and a battery disconnect switch.
Bob Beardsley showed up with his Pennsylvania switcher and has it up on one of the steaming bays. Bob Beardsley Jr. brought his dad out and is helping him ready the engine for live steam running.
While the tender is filling with water Bob checks over the engine in preparation of raising steam which has been converted over to propane fired because Bob doesn't get along with the smoke now. Mike Harkleroad brought the Camelback and Paul Zorko watches as Mike prepares the engine to raise steam.
Bob has departed the station and is out for another run with shakedown runs to check his engine and mechanical aspects before he builds a cab for the unit. Alex arriving at the station with the interurban which he really enjoys running.
Cory with his dad Greg as he passes through the station with the club's newly acquired engine. Mark arriving at Shriver Station westbound as Greg and Cory are about to depart eastbound for their trip around the track.
A close-up of Bob's diesel engine showing the engine, the hydraulic pump, the oil reservoir tank for the hydraulic motors and the starting battery with the radiator in front. Another view of the engine showing the scratch built frame.
Alex as he passes over a bridge at the end of the main yard as he heads for Hilton on the Branch Line and points West with the interurban. Paul Zorko has just left Hemlock and is starting down the slight grade to Hilton on the mainline as he heads towards Hilde Hill.
Alex on the Branch Line waits for traffic on the mainline at Hilton as all Branch Line traffic has to yield to traffic on the mainline crossings. Greg Guy with Dave Woldman as they round the curve on the Branch Line and head towards Hilton.
As we wait for the block signal to clear, Alex comes by with the interurban eastbound as he heads up towards Hemlock where he will clear the signal for the block. Bob and his son Bob have the steam engine up and running and are backing into the storage shed yard to pick up some cars.
Bob steadies the car on the slight grade as his dad backs up the steamer to couple on to the car. Paul Zorko backs his train onto the Stanek Car Barn car lift and in the background the Snoopy train is getting readied to run.
Paul's train rides the lift after he put two of his cars on the storage rack on the second level. Joe Laskowski loads his interurban into his car and the caboose will go on the platform behind the car.
A close-up of Joe's interurban on the lift, lettered for the Bangor and Western Railroad. Back in the yard the batteries have been added to the Snoopy train, the battery connections made, next the house will be slipped over top, the wiring connected to the control panel on the house and the roof put in place.
Bob traveling from the station on the Pandora reverse track as he's headed eastbound for the Covered Bridge. Back at the station Bob Pakeltis with his grandson Adam take control of the club engine with Greg and Cory watching as John and Ethan Deptowicz with the Snoopy train passes by westbound.
