10.15.05 Club Run

For our club run today we invited NMRA Div 5 members to join us for the train runs and the "Hobo Stew" dinner. Robbi is attending to the fire as our dinner will be cooked in an open kettle.
Joe Laskowski and friend with his Bangor & Western electric powered interurban. Dick Philpott with Frank Russell and Holly Philpott on the Dinky Creek train approaching Filmor.
The clubs' GP38 sitting on a siding from Bruce at the soon to be Filmor crossing. Bob Beardslee unloading his Pennsy switcher at the engine lift and setting a pail with tools on the tender.

Frank Foti coasting to the switch controller coming into the station. Meanwhile at the end of the station, the kettle of hams and vegetables are nicely boiling away and that's Rex Shrivers engine in background.

Yep, it looks as though it is cooking nicely. It was good to see Judson Elliott had his engine fixed and running again, a familiar sight that we haven't seen for over a year.
Ken Vendlinger waits as his riders unload from his Reading train at the station. LSLS and Div 5 members at the station as Dick shows a Div 5 member the controls on his Dinky Creek engine.
The three interurbans in the club line up for a photo session. Left to right, Ted Nylands', Joe Laskowskis' and Frank Russells' pose for the club photographer. What a sight!

Robbi adding the next batch of vegetables to the pot. Bob coasting past the station as he heads for the water supply for his tender.
Paul Emch with the club engine talks with a Div 5 member. As Edith and Robbi tend to the fire the trainload of riders wait for the mainline to clear before departing.
With the flames licking the side of the cast iron kettle you can see the rolling boil as the dinner hour nears. Dicks' train at the station with George Davidson behind unloading.

Judson departs as members and guests start to congregate at the station as dinner nears. Dick Clark with his switcher going to make another run before dinner.

Ken decides that there is enough time for another run around the track before dinner also. Mike Uhrich brought in these beautiful Dahlias for a table center piece.
This last photo was my downfall. As I was taking the photo the lens cap got between the boards on the table and as I stood up the camera was yanked out of my hands and fell to the ground and jammed the lens in.
Hence the reason for no more pictures of the event.
