10.16.04 Magical Whooloween Run

Frank Foti and his Pacific ready to haul the public this evening with Judson Elliott behind him coming into the station. Dick Clark bundled up against the cold with his SW1500 switcher.
Bob Beardslee and James Bradley watch over the steaming up of the CliShay. Rex Shriver gives helpful instruction to James about steaming and running the CliShay.
The public are gathered and the cold rain with temperature dropping as Roy Harris loads the trains. The costumes were bright, colorful and plentiful in spite of the weather.
Karl Losely on the Hudson in the rain. It's colder tonight than it was for Friday night but just as wet. The next couple of pictures show the handi-work of the members' carving talent.
The pumpkins as we approach Horrendous from Gillette.
This year our club had a crossing gate, even if it was only carved in a pumpkin. Linda Harris is going to sit in for Dan Roberts at the controls as another load of passengers brave the weather.
As Linda's trainload pulls out, Jonathan Shaffer pulls into the loading area. Ted Nyland waits for the passengers to load on his interurban train as the cold rain continues.
Talk about a gracious public, smiling faces and patience as they stand in the wet 38 degree weather for a ride. Matt Philpott's costume of Pooh Bear at least kept him warm.
James checking over his propane fired CliShay behind the station. Proof of how cold it was as the rain turned to sleet as evidenced by the sleet on the table top.
Jon Jaros with water hose in hand as Frank Foti pulls in to top off air and water for his engine. Linda bundled up and with rain gear waits for the passengers to load as the engine glistens from the rain.
No matter what Mother Nature threw at us for these two nights our engineers and support personal and mostly the public were able to smile. Getting close to the end of the evening Karl tops off the water for the Hudson.
