Public Run

Richard Sales and his riders all bundled up to keep warm but it was still a cold ride. This is what you get when you have two steamers at the station at the same time and not much wind to clear out the smoke.
A time shot of the action at the station with two steamers and one is about to leave. Jon Jaros run his Northern after our public run and it sure makes steam.
Jon put on a pair of elephant ears which are smoke deflectors to make the exhaust rise up over the cab while running. Saturday evening and we catch Skip Frank starting the run for today with one of the first loads out.
Rick Nagy at the controls of the club's GP38 with a full load of passengers and Ken Brooks as conductor. Ted Nyland motors past us with his first run of the evening carrying passengers.
Once again Kenny is all smiles and there are a lot of engines at the station unloading or ready to load. Pauls' train is just starting to move as he has a full load for this run.
Dick Schmidt with his switcher and all bundled up looks like the masked bandito trying to keep warm. What do we have here....all dressed up as a scarecrow, I hope she is warm enough and of course won't play with matches..
As Roy Harris in black checks the passengers he doesn't notice the masked train robber plying his trade by demanding valuables from the riders. Why it's none other than Daryl Metcalf behind that hankerchief known as "Heartless Four Eyes" because he shows no mercy. By day he's a banker.
Bob Charles Basset all dressed up in a conductors uniform handled the duties of unloading the trains as they came into the station. Richard with a ghost behind him and some other colorful characters leaves the station.
It was a shame that it was so cold that the kids had to bundle up to keep warm and it hid most of their costumes. Many braved the coolness of the early evening but when that sun goes down it will be different.
Terry Sullivan brought his electric powered switcher and was getting some time on the throttle. Mitch Lane operating the Hudson as he coasts to a stop to let off his passengers in front of the station.
Roberta Uhrich and Ron Trenhaile pose for the photographer at the station, Ron minus the straight jacket. Ted with a load of passengers on the track behind the station is just a minute or two from arriving at the station.
Linda Harris is taking a turn at engineering to let Rex warm up a bit as she has just crossed Cider Bridge. Dick Clark is all bundled up against the cold as well as his passengers as he crosses Cider Bridge.
See, Terry is drinking and driving, anything to try and keep warm but he's still smiling. The embers in the fire become airborne and create and erie scene of illumination from the roaring fire unnoticed by those who it is giving up it's warmth to.
DiAnne Clark who took some interesting photos of my caboose which will be at the end of this set of pictures. Ted Nyland looks cold in spite of being all bundled up as he starts his next run with Samantha Werstler behind him.
Rick Nagy, Gabriel Fiorille, DiAnne Clark and friend dressed as a large chicken...think Kentucky Fried with Brigitte Fiorille standing behind Rick. Roberta and Mike Uhrich with Robbi Haines pose seemly asking the question..."Witch one is witch?".
Kevin Harris and Daryl Metcalf stepping out of character after the run as they look at Daryls cell phone. Brett Harris as a wounded Confederate soldier worked at loading passengers on the trains.
Mike behind his boxcab with his son Marc Uhrich and Jen Lyden about to leave the station with him. Jen Lyden looking dapper with top hat and What...no coat?
Roy Harris watches the costumed kids climb aboard the Snoopy train near the end of the event. Robbi is all smiles after the run and another Whooloween Run has been completed to history.
DiAnne Clark took these photos of Bill Deptowicz's caboose and these are undoctored photos. No other engines were around it at the time the photos were taken but look how the smoke or vapor goes through the caboose and comes out on the back side.See the face? Maybe there were Ghosts and Goblins visting that night.
