Magical Whooloween Run - Part I - 10/18/13

Chris Conant, Robbi Haines and Karen Haines put candles in the pumpkins before setting them out in the woods with Ken Brooks at the controls of the GP38 as he talks to Ron Trenhaile. Sean Roberts and family steams up his engine as Virginia Weinberg, the witch, asks for directions to the gingerbread house.
Mike Uhrich, Dave Foster and Rick Nagy sit on riding cars near the fire pit having a discussion. John Deptowicz, taking his compulsory shakedown run before hauling passengers, stopped and let the photographer take a photo of the decorations at Hilde Hill.
Frank Foti with East Wind starts to gain speed on his 1st run as he departs the station. Kind of cool today and it rained earlier so the dampness gets to you so a good place to be is by the fire.
Richard Sales looks over the pumpkin cutout on his engine as Rick Nagy departs the station with his passengers. John Deptowicz deep in the woods with the Snoopy train as he passes through High Creek on his way towards Horrendous.
Sean Roberts is passing over Patty's Rock Bridge with his 0-6-0 steam switcher and will shortly start the grade up to High Creek. Ted Nyland, with his pair of interurban's, crosses over the same bridge and will shortly start ascending the grade up to High Creek.
Dick Clark coasts down the grade from Hilton with Judy Oscker as his conductor as he passes over Bridge #6 headed for Fern. A few minutes later, Rick with the GP38 came into view as he passed over Bridge #6 with Jennifer Legan as his conductor.
We use prisoners from the Glenn Penitentiary because it's cheaper. Not really that's Ron Trenhaile one of our members in costume for the Whooloween Run tonight watching the trains as they come off the Truss Bridge. Back at the station Skip Frank departs with his steamer Lynn, blowing down the cylinders.
Ken Brooks starts out from the station after having been loaded with passengers. Harry Tabor, as engineer, giving a break to Rick Nagy, departs the station with a load of passengers with the kids in costume and Jennifer as conductor.
Judson Elliott departs the station with his scratch built electric powered engine and train with his passengers and darkness has really settled in. Bill Besselman and Ron Malinowski stand behind Richard as he waits for his train to finish loading before leaving the station.
John Koontz gives a smile as he prepares to leave the station and you can't miss Scooby Doo riding behind him with Trish Koontz as his conductor. Virginia Weinberg decked out as a witch, sits at the unloading area and dispenses candy to the children as they get off the train.
Roberta Uhrich, dressed up as a witch talks with Virginia, also dressed as a witch, as they aided the riders departing the train. We were lucky in that I had we had 3 witches as Robbi Haines joined the witches parade and posed for this photo but I didn't see anybody take off on their broom.
Dick arriving back at the station with his passengers and Roberta standing by to assist with the unloading. Bill Deptowicz handed off his camera to his son John, to spell him from running the Snoopy train, as Ron counts the riders and Marty gives instruction to the riders.
Ted talks to Karl Losely as Ron checks over Sean Roberts train before he departs the station after Marty loaded the passengers. Rick arrives back at the station with his trainload of passengers and Ron at the right side of the photo is now not only in prison garb but a straitjacket.
Karl Losely running his wife's train as he leaves the station with his passengers. An available light shot of the action at the station without using the flash on the camera showing that the counters and loaders are kept busy all night.
Members and friends keeping warm around the blazing fire in the fire pit enjoying some good ole conversation. Chris Conant, Robbi's sister, Robbi and Edith Hacker with her cow hat keeping warm by the fire.
Harry passing through Zip Junction on his way towards Horrendous with the GP38 and a loaded train with everyone bundled up against the permeating cold of the ride. Ken after having just emerged from the Covered Bridge with his passengers, heads towards Zip Junction.
Mike Uhrich's trying to keep dry from a light rain that has started seems to be saying "What's in your wallet?". Another train has pulled into the station under the watchful eye of Judy and Roberta as they wait for the train to roll to a stop so passengers may unload.
Judy as conductor on Dick's train, waits for the train to pull ahead to load passengers as Karl slows his engine to a stop to unload his passengers on track 2. Edith looking dapper with the cow hat which may look funny but I'm sure it kept her head warm. Especially on a night like this.
Sean departs the station with his steam engine amid billowing exhaust vapor with Ron Malinowski at the rear as his conductor on this trip with Ted on the adjacent track ready to load. Frank opens the throttle on East Wind as the engine moves forward with the loaded cars and heads out on his next run.
The rain is getting heavier as Ray Delmore in his conductor suit and ghostly image pose for a picture for the photographer and the run is almost all over for tonight. You can see the large raindrops on Harry's coat as he leaves the station on this which will be his last run for tonight.
