Magical Whooloween Run -Part II - 10/22/2011


Saturday night and Roy Harris is loading Jeff Ridler's train with Kathy Losely assisting with the first train of the night. Rex Shriver at the controls of his electric-powered switcher as he departs the station with his trainload of passengers.
Rick Nagy behind the club's GP38 will have to wait for his passengers to load after Ken Brooks' train is loaded and departs the station. Maybe that wasn't an apparition last night as Robbi Haines walks down the mainline to check the candles in the pumpkins.
Karl Losley, having unloaded his passengers moves to the loading area with the Hudson engine. A view of Horrendous with the pumpkins and decorations set out before darkness sets in.

Ken Vendlinger on the Main Line approaches the switch to Short as he heads for Drudgery and points west with his passengers. Jeff running on the parallel track as he crosses over to gain access to the Main Line just past Drudgery.
Rex with his passengers as he approaches Hemlock and will soon start the downward grade after passing through Hilton. John Koontz at the controls of the interurbans, giving Ted Nyland a break and a chance to warm up.
Judson Elliott with his partially built, electric-powered switcher just passes through Drudgery near the beginning of his run. Ken departing the station at the beginning of his run with a trainload of passengers as darkness settles in up at the station.
Mike Harkleroad at the controls of the Park's engine waits for a few more riders to be loaded before departing the station. A view of a train that Roy is loading with Judy Oscker at the rear of the train as conductor and Dick Mackey on the right keeps count of passengers.

Bundled up against the cold, Dick Clark having passed through Horrendous on his way to Zip Junction will in a few minutes be back at the station to warm up. Frank Foti with his Pacific engine, East Wind, charges across the Park Access road on his way to Zip Junction and the Cider Bridge with a full load of passengers and Judy as conductor.
Marty Pinkston with Richard Sales' train has just cleared the Truss Bridge and will soon be taking the grade up Mackey's Run. John Deptowicz with the Snoopy train passes through the Truss bridge with a trainload of passengers as he heads west to Mackey's Run and Big Bend Bridge.

Karl back at the controls of the Hudson as he opens the steam cocks to blow out excess condensation before departing the station. Passengers are about to leave Ken's train at the unloading area while Logan and Austin Tapolyai, Amy Deptowicz and Pam Znidar look on.
Pam with her book, "Hocus Pocus Spells & Potions" which opens up to reveal Halloween candies to be handed to children at the end of their ride. Some more action at the unloading area as passengers get off the trains and the children get to pick their sweet treat.
Dick Mackey sitting in a chair trying to keep warm while keeping track of the passenger count on the trains which is a requirement by the Park. Our apparition is now revealed to be our own Robbi sitting by the fire to keep warm.
John's back at the controls of the interurbans as he waits for Roy to finish loading his passengers before his next run. Karl and the Hudson with the steam cocks open as he waits for his passengers to finish loading and the "all aboard" signal from Roy.
One of the last loads of the public to ride for the evening's festivities are loaded on Ken Brooks' train and await the return of their engineer. At the end of the run, the Park personnel who had waited patiently for a ride have boarded a train with Roy giving riding instructions and Judy as conductor.
Even Pat Morse got a ride on the train, all decked out in her extra pair of eyes -- the better to see in the dark out on the track. Ted with his interurbans arriving back at the station at the end of the night.
Diane Hopp, Dee Harkleroad, Robbi, Ethan and Mitch as they take advantage of the last embers of the fire for warmth. Amy, John, Ethan and Robbie share a moment at the end of another successful run.
Don Speidel with a trainload of friends and members as he departs the station to give them a ride. Dick Clark pauses to talk to Dick Mackey before heading to the barn and Karl talking to Mitch before heading to the steaming bays for his blow down and cleaning up the engine.
