The station expansion painted to match the existing structure. Looking straight in at the front of the station. Looking good!
Western elevation of the station. View from the rear quarter showing the expansion and how well it blends in to the existing. Gutters still have to be added.
Looking West from the coal tipple towards the park service road. There's actually five sets of tracks under those leaves. George Davidson and Tom Reder starting to replace the switch.
The yard track that was removed for heavy equipment access has been replaced. The trenching that was done by hand last week for the drainage around the yard tracks.
Edith Hacker with wheelbarrow going for another load of fallen branches. Dick Clark, George Davidson, Lou Delembo working to fit new switch to existing track as Tom Reder watches.
Fitting the rail to the newly positioned switch with rail joiners. George Woodling and Tom Reder are fastening down the rail to the new ties.
George and Dick taking a break as Lou and his grandson, Andrew watch. Mark Ross(background) was working on switchpoints today. George and Tom continue with fastening the rail down to the new ties.
Dick cutting back the existing aluminum rail to further separate the rail joiners. Break time for everyone. Switch is tied in to existing rail and needs to be ballasted yet.
Since today was our last official work session for the year, we celebrated by going out to dinner at the Italian Gardens Restaurant. Waiting at the entrance for all those attending to show up.
We were informed our tables were ready.
Good friends, good food and a good time was had by those in attendance to a culmination of the work and operating sessions for the year.
