Work Session - 12/07/2011

Bonnie Zaken brought in pulled pork for sandwiches along with chocolate chip cookies and potato chips and here's Steve Zaken, Rick Nagy and Joe Banzer waiting for lunch to warm up to serving temperature. At the rear of the GP38 club engine we can see the starter switch and the switch for the lights on the engine have been taken out of their bracket in preparation for rewiring.
Steve and Rick look over at the wiring that his been redone up to this point as Joe in the background eats his lunch. Wayne Boron and Joe Banzer have been doing most of the rewiring on this engine and made up a diagram for the rewiring of the engine.
Joe looking over our upcoming schedule for 2012 with Bonnie Zaken. Ted Nyland and Bill Deptowicz worked to get the front axle off of the Park engine because the flanges on the wheels were wearing thin and the wheels need to be replaced.
Rick Nagy is tightening up the air fitting, going through the frame of the conductor car, for the brakes. Steve watches as Joe and Wayne, who is hidden behind Joe, work on the wiring of the club's GP 38 engine.
With the truck on the conductor car removed, Dick Clark is routing the air hosing so that it come up into the truck and connect to the air cylinder for the brakes as Frank Foti watches. Dick used a tee so that one leg will go up inside the truck to the air cylinder and the other one will be routed to the end of the car to pick up air controlled from the brake valve.
Joe looks through a box that Wayne is holding for a wire connector as they continue to make progress on the rewiring of the engine. A view of the front three axle truck of the Park engine with the one wheel set removed and sitting off on the left-hand side that will need the wheels pressed off the axle.
