2.07.07 Work Session

It's nice to have equipment available at HoseMaster where they "loaned" us the use of an operator and the 200 ton press to straighten out the curvature in the 1/4" steel plate for our two new crossings.
These are just a few of the flexible pipe and ducts that they manufacture in the plant that is over a half mile long. Truly a great undertaking.
George Woodling, Dick Clark and Frank Foti align and tape down the full size drawing, that Dave Foster provided us with, to the straightened steel plate.
Dave Foster, Lew Fowler, Rick Nagy, Frank, Dick and George trying to agree on the next step. This time we will be making a 41 degree crossing and we mark the rail location thru the drawing using a steel punch.
Here we have Frank cutting his home made Italian sausage into links, I think he misunderstood when I had asked him before if he added iron to his recipe. Just kidding, he is cutting the steel rail to length.
Dick is measuring for the next piece of track as Rick and Frank watch. Lew is checking the rails with the track gauges to check the fit as Dick and Rick watch.
We started milling the ends of the rail for the angle and the under cutting of the foot of the rail to clear the adjoining piece of rail. This is what the end looked like and it's time to quit for today.
