Work Session - 2/23/11

Frank Foti with East Wind on blocks to relieve the equalization springing as he works to change the loading on the drivers from the rear truck. An up-close shot just waiting for oil to drip on Frank from the oil pan.....which didn't happen.....as there is no oil pan!
The Park engine with the wiring shuffled to the side and the bed plate wiped clean of grease and oil. Left to right: Dave Foster brought a larger replacement steel gas tank to replace the smaller plastic tank; Bill Deptowicz's new battery hold down box; and the new hydraulic oil tank fabricated by Dave.
With using the new gas tank, clearance between the battery box and hydraulic hoses going to a distribution box will have to be considered. Bill working on removing the mounting straps on the steel gas tank as a new gas tank support will have to be made.
Bill figuring out where the new vertical bracket for the steel gas tank will be located on the steel bed plate of the engine as Lew watches on. Steve Zaken watches as George Raby applies the bracing panels to the wood doors of the box car cover for Steve's riding car.
George Metts and Lew watch as Steve and George continue putting on the trim to the doors of the box car cover. Bill drilling one of the four holes in the bed plate needed for the battery mounting bracket.
The air reservoir tank had to be removed in order to bolt down the battery mounting bracket. George is working on the last of the detail bracing of the doors for the box car cover, as Steve and Lew look on.
