Lake Front Lodge Business Meeting - 4/18/15

The Lake Front Lodge has been making improvements to the property and here we see the new observation deck. Waiting for the food to arrive, the members gathered inside and outside on the patio of the Lodge.
Edith Hacker, Linda Harris, Anna Zorko and Judy Oscker while away the time. Tonight we have dinner, our business meeting and elections for a trustee position.
Sitting at this table is Bill Besselman, Ken Vendlinger, Ron Trenhaile and Kitty Shriver enjoying the warm rays of the sun. Bill looking out over the lake appears to be deep in thought caught in this peaceful pose.
Judy Oscker buys some raffle tickets for our Chinese raffle that Karl and Kathy Losely were selling before dinner started as Bill hands over his money for some tickets. Inside the lodge they had some snacks that were set out which the members were enjoying as they waited for dinner.
The setting sun provided a brilliant light coming through the windows as the members enjoyed conversing with each other. The snacks were good and plentiful along with the beverages provided.
Frank Foti, Rick Nagy, Frank Smoley, Dave Hird and Andy Yedlick, in the foreground, enjoy the conversations. Some of the members present as today was the day that membership dues were to be paid.
My son John Deptowicz stepped outside with my camera and took a picture of the blazing setting sun as it was getting lower to the horizon. The same view that you would see without using the telephoto lens of the setting sun.
After the food arrived everyone was helping themselves and sitting down enjoying a good meal and afterwords some payed their dues before the meeting started. Kevin Harris moves a table to set up a projection screen.
Andy Yedlick, in the redshirt, for the last couple meetings has posed trivia questions on railroads in the area and had several railroad maps from the 20's for the prize. Kevin Harris is setting up a laptop to control the show that are be projected up on the screen.
While waiting for Kevin to set up the equipment I just took pictures around the room of those in attendance for tonight's meeting. Kevin working with the power cords and control cables.
In this picture we have Frank Smoley, Judson Elliott background, Steve and Bonnie Zaken, Edith Hacker, Skip Frank and Andy. A view across the room from where I was sitting of the members as we wait for the presentation.
Pat Morris of the Park service, explained to us that because of the new flooring, when we break down for evening not to drag the tables on the floor. A view from front of the room looking towards the rear at our members.
Kevin explaining Metroparks Emergency Operations/Actions manual giving us a brief rundown for the manual that will be in our station for us to read. Paul Zorko collects the voting ballots as he leans over Harry Tabor.
The members wait for the votes to be tallied to find out who will be our next trustee as Rick Nagy is our outgoing trustee. As the members listen it is announced that Ken Brooks won the election and will be our third trustee.
Skip Frank poses a question about our younger members under 15 years old running on the mainline during club runs by themselves and what would be the criteria for this to happen. With the meeting over, Kathy and Karl Losely working the raffle as he holds a quart of maple syrup that was donated.
Kathy and Karl proceed with the drawing as Judy Oscker and Mike Harkleroad await the next winning ticket number to be called out. Everyone watched their ticket numbers as the winning number was called out, as you put tickets in a cup for the items that you are interested in.
Kathy holds up the next item to be won as Karl calls out the number of the winning ticket. The ticket for the last item is called out and next we will break down the tables, fold up the chairs and leave the place as we found it.
