Earth Day Public Run - 4/26/15

I warned Dick Clark about stopping too quick... Actually he's checking the fluids under the hood and kicking the tires before the run. No it's not a prayer meeting, the engineers and conductors are required to attend the safety meeting before each run.
Frank Foti firing up his little mogul steam engine as he checks the fire in the firebox. Well it's 1 o'clock and the trains are loading as Amy and John Deptowicz stand by their Snoopy train and Greg Guy has loaded the club's GP38 train that Ken Brooks is running.
John departing the station with his first load of passengers for today's run which is Earth Day. John Koontz adds air to the storage tanks for the brakes as Greg loads the train for his first run and you can see the line of waiting riders.
Earth Day is one of the two most attended at the park and the line of riders waiting to ride the trains is unusually long today, the other is for Bug Day. John just having left the station about a minute ago crosses over the grade crossing for the Park Access Road as he heads for Drudgery.
Passing through Zip Junction, Paul Zorko rumbles over the grade crossing as he heads for Horrendous. Just exiting the Truss Bridge with his train, Skip Frank leans forward to blow the whistle for the grade crossing ahead.
Shortly after, John emerges from the Truss Bridge with another load of passengers as he heads for Mackey's Run. Mike Harkleroad at the controls of the club's diesel engine is about to rumble over the grade crossing.
Next to come by was Ken Brooks as he gives a wave and his conductor on the rear is Lew Fowler. Paul is all smiles as is his passengers as they start up the slight grade to Mackey's Run.
Paul Emch with his SW9 switcher gives a wave as he enters Horrendous after passing through High Creek with his passengers. Dick Clark and his passengers as they pass through High Creek riding behind Dick's SW1500 diesel engine.
Sean Roberts brought his 0-6-0 steam engine switcher for the run today and is about to pass through Horrendous with his passengers. Ken Vendlinger was next to come along with his little Reading diesel switcher and gives a wave.
Ken with his trainload of passengers, having passed through High Creek, makes his way towards Horrendous with Lew as his conductor. Jerry Bell, as engineer of the club's Nickel Plate diesel, just about to pass over the switch that leads to Short as he rolls down the mainline.
Paul arriving back at the station with his charge of passengers who are being aided in their departure from the train by Edith Hacker and Jennifer Zorko. Bill Deptowicz at the controls of the Snoopy train gives a smile as he's about to depart the station.
Kenny arriving back at the station as he nears the end of his trip through our wooded layout. Bill arriving back at the station with another load of passengers waiting for traffic ahead to clear.
John back at the controls of his Snoopy train waits for passengers to be loaded as Rick Nagy with the club's GP38 waits for Roy Harris to finish loading passengers on his train. Dick having just passed through Horrendous with his passengers will soon start down grade towards Filmor.
Rick Nagy as he passes over Big Wash Bridge with his load of passengers and Judy Oscker as his conductor at the rear. John as he coasts by Hilton as he's about to take the long grade down past Gulch and Hilde Hill.
Mike on the grade above Gulch as he passes over the switch for the yard lead, coasts down the grade towards Hilde Hill and Fern. Sean almost at the same location with his steam switcher coasting down the grade with his passengers.
John coasts down the long grade past Gulch with a happy load of passengers and Dave Hird as his conductor at the rear. Rick passes by the same location, but the picture is taken from the other side of the track.
John passes over Bridge No. 6 as he heads towards Fern with the Snoopy train and his passengers. Mike was the next to come by the same location as he heads towards Fern and the Truss Bridge.
Sean, passing by the siding that has some cars set out, as he heads for the Truss Bridge and points West. John having passed through Mackey's Run is on his way towards the Big Bend Bridge.
