Open Meet - Part I 6/19/15

Chris Cooper pulls into the station with his scratch-built Pennsylvania diesel switcher engine with Wally Pausch riding behind as Wayne Boron looks on. Ron Trenhaile and Dave Foster talk in the background as a New York Central gondola is moved from the storage shed.
Roger Butler from the East Sandusky Bay Railway with his Norfolk and Western diesel heads back towards the station eastbound, with family and friends riding behind. Just before the meet started, Ron Trenhaile added the switch signal light to our remote ground throw near Drudgery.
As Richard Sales and Ken Brooks engage in a conversation, Dick Clark with his SW1500 departs the station running lite. The other person in a topic of conversation is Dick Schmidt as Richard and Ken talk about the controllers activated with radio control.
Richard was having problems with the address communication between the transmitter and the speed control on this new unit he was testing. Roger departing the station with a full load of passengers as he heads westbound on the mainline.
Richard builds these units and is known as Mr. Motion. Dick waits at the station for his train to load before departing, heading westbound as Ken watches the activity enjoying his coffee.
Rick Nagy, Bob Pakeltis, Bonnie Zaken, Edith Hacker and Ron Malinowski are the riders as Dick leaves the station. Wayne Boron and Frank Smoley work on the Granary structure that the people pass as they come back into the station.
Chris coming into the station with Ron seated behind him as he nears the end of his run. Steam engines always draw the attention and East wind is no exception as Marshal Stewart, Roger Butler, Dale Stewart, Dave Foster, George Metts, Frank Foti and Ken Brooks engage in conversation.
Same crew but Mike Harkleroad has joined them as he watches Frank Foti prepare the engine for running. Roger with Marshal and Dale riding behind him as he passes through Horrendous on his way towards Zip Junction.
Riding with Dick Clark we passed Scott Hewis with his train on the Branch Line. As we wait for the white signal indicating the block is clear, Roger came into view with his train as he approaches Horrendous where he will clear the block signal.
A side shot of Chris Cooper's Pennsylvania steel bodied caboose with the round windows. Three-quarter view of Chris's Pennsylvania switcher in which he has four-speed controls in tandem together for the four motors, one on each axle.
A quick shot of Scott coming into the station with Paul Emch riding in the gon behind him as they pass by Bob. Frank Foti coming into the station with East Wind with his passengers, Frank and Wayne.
Nathan Cutietta with Roger Butler riding behind him as they head towards the station with the electric powered switcher. Nathan and Roger as they pass by the water tower at the steaming bays as they head west on the mainline.
Richard Sales trying to make a point with a horse that only has three legs in front of him. Richard and Perry Taylor look at the tower that Mike erected, as he describes how he acquired it.
East Wind didn't like the new siding that we put in a couple months back and decided to go to ground after splitting the switch. East Wind with his main drivers back on the rail and the rear set of wheels on his front truck still have to be put on the rail.
Nathan took the crossover to get his train on the siding track to park the engine in front of the steaming bays. With finger-pointing and the safety venting off excess steam, could we say somebody is steamed up? Actually Frank was just trying to make a point with Dick.
Looking past the siding where Frank's train rests we see Scott Hewis with his train heading down the Short Line with Steve Zaken his only passenger. Margarita at the controls of the little switcher having just passed over the Festival Bridge as they head in back towards the station.
Frank emerging from the Covered Bridge with East Wind as he heads towards Pandora with our two-way running and will soon be rumbling over the Big Bend Bridge. Having waited for the block signal to clear Mike and Perry head towards the Covered Bridge after leaving Pandora.
Our Covered Bridge which was named in honor of one of our charter members, Clyde Bleil who lived to be 100 years old before his passing in 2009. Coming around the bend from Shoe running towards Pandora, the block signal release is above the white and orange reflector with a micro rocker switch with a whip on top.
Scott and Steve as they pass Shoe headed towards Pandora where they too will clear the signal for this block. After passing through Horrendous, Mike and Perry head for Zip Junction where in a few minutes they will be back at Shriver Station.
Margarita and Nathan Cutietta give a wave as they come off the Justin Tyme Bridge with Nathan's mother and Rob Cutietta riding behind as they head towards Mackey's Run. After coming down the grade from Hilton passing through Hilde Hill and Fern, Dick reaches for the signal post to release the block he is just exiting as the reflectors shine in the flash from the camera.
