Work Session - 7/15/15

Our track signal at the steaming bay had one of the bulbs burn out so we were looking for a suitable replacement and Paul Emch brought this one to try out. It's an LED replacement type that was recommended to him but when I tried it out it wasn't bright enough.
While Frank Foti went for the club engine in the Stanek Car Barn, Dick got out the ballast car and pushed it to the gravel pile. Frank backing the train into the siding alongside the gravel pile.
With the ballast car filled, Frank heads out the main line with John Koontz riding behind him. Working on a switch signal installation were Ron Trenhaile and Steve Zaken, mounting it on the end of the Justin Tyme Bridge.
Ron was going to screw the extender ties to mount the control box alongside of the turnout control rod which will use magnetic switches activated by a cam on the rod. John and Dick finish loading the ballast car as Frank keeps the train in place.
Okay, they want a few more shovelfulls of stone to top the car off. About twenty feet down the track from the gravel siding switch this woodchuck checked the signal on another switch to see if it was all right to cross the tracks but since it wasn't on he crossed anyway.
Do you see that? He knew he was safe and stuck his tongue out at me. With the load of limestone ballast spread along the rails we get ready to call it quits for the day.
Dick pulls the chute gate plates out and hangs them on the clips at the end of the car so the car will fit in our storage shed with the proper side clearance.
