Work Session - 7/25/15

Wayne Boron hamming it up alongside of Frank Smoley with Ron Malinowski and Paul Zorko behind them in front of the Shriver Station. Don Speidel leaving the station on track #2 with his New York Central switcher.
As Don continues his westward journey he takes the switch to a siding to park his train as Ron watches. Richard Sales and Dave Cryor watch as Doris Smoley gets ready to take a picture of a guest in the engineers seat on the GP38 as Greg Guy and Ron stand of to the side.
As lunch was nearing, Jen Zorko was cooking hambergers and hot dogs on the grill along side of the station. Stopping on Short above Zip Junction, Cory Guy makes it look easy to fill the fuel tank on the GP38 as his dad Greg and sister Carley look on.
I caught Ted and Marie Nyland as they passed through Horrendous with Ted running his American steam engine as they headed towards Zip Junction. The Harris family with Kevin, his dad Roy and his mother Linda as they enjoy some time by the station.
Frank Foti with East Wind as they thunder through Zip Junction on their way to Shriver Station behind a plume of exhaust. Standing in Horrendous I caught Ben at the controls of his dad's 0-6-0 switcher as they slowed to a stop to wait for a clear signal for the block ahead.
As they waited for the signal to clear I got this picture of Ben and Sean Roberts sitting on the tender of their train. Dick Clark with his SW1500 engine lettered for the Western Maryland takes the switch that leads to the mainline after passing thru Lester.
Frank with a passenger load takes the same cutoff to the mainline near Drugery as he heads West. Steve Zaken passes by on the m ainline with his electric powered box cab lettered for Good & Plenty as he heads for Hemlock.
While riding with Dick as we approached Horrendous we passed Sean departing Horrendous as he headed for Zip Junction. Looking up the grade at Hilde Hill running eastbound and the long incline to get to Hilton.
As Frank walks to the end of the yard to set switches, Sean looks over his shoulder to back his switcher into the yard. Back at the steaming bays by Shriver Station, Bob Beardslee prepares his 0-4-0 switcher for it's yearly boiler test with Linda watching as Roy and Kevin make preparations.
After leaving his riding cars in the storage barn, Frank moved East Wind to a steaming bay where he dropped the fire. Frank watches as the boiler blowdown on East Wind is almost complete.
Sean Roberts readies his engine with an oil rubdown to clean and make the engine shine even if it will be only temporary until the next run. Roy watches as Bob tightens the safety back in place as his son, Bob watches.
In a cloud of dust and a Hi Yo Silver, Frank uses compressed air to clear East Wind of the coal ash dust. Here Frank blows out the remaining ash from the firebox as he continues to clean East Wind.
Father and son in discussion after having passed the boiler test. Now they just have to assemble the parts removed so that the test could be accomplished.
While watching the action at the steaming bays Ted and Marie passed by riding their interurban as they headed West out of the station. A view of two of the three steam engines on the steaming bays getting cleaned up.
A view of the three engines up on the steaming bays being worked on by their owners as they prepared them to be ready for the next run. At the station Greg was copying our mailbag emblem from a sign to see about getting copies made for our signal bridge he made.
