Public Run 8/23/15


Ted Nyland with his pair of interurbans is the first to depart Shriver Station for our public run on this beautiful sunny day. Paul Zorko's passengers give a wave to friends watching as his train starts gaining momentum departing on his first run of the day.
John Deptowicz with his Snoopy train and almost a full load of passengers departs the station. Skip Frank with his steam engine "Lynn" checks the gauges before moving his train which has already been loaded with passengers.
Greg Guy (standing) has just given John Koontz the "All Aboard" signal so he can move his train on down the mainline on his next run. Ron Malinowski leaving the station with his electric powered switcher engine on his first run of the day.
Harry Tabor has just rolled into the station with Logan Tapolyai as his conductor and Jen Zorko aids with the unloading of the passengers. The Snoopy train caboose complete with characters inside and Snoopy at the rear platform with Woodstock in the nest on the roof.
John having just passed over Festival Bridge with Ken Brooks as his conductor will soon be approaching Shriver Station. Ron at about the same location will be back at the station in a few minutes to unload his passengers.
Dick Clark gives a wave to a passing train on the adjacent track as he is about to pass through the Covered Bridge with Lou DeLembo as his conductor. Frank Smoley is all smiles as he emerges from the Covered Bridge and starts up the slight grade to Zip Junction.
Skip with Lynn as he climbs the grade at Mackey's Run with a full complement of passengers on his train. Ken Vendlinger gives a wave as he rumbles over the wooden grade crossing for the Park Access Road with his train.
John emerges from the Truss Bridge with the Park engine as he heads for Mackey's Run. Once again Ken passes by the photographer after passing through Fern.
John as he coasts down the grade by Filmor is about to pass over the Branch Line crossing. Ted with his interurbans crossing over Big Wash Bridge after passing through Hemlock.
Paul Zorko smiles as he approaches Hemlock, just a few minutes into this run, as he will soon be coasting down the long grade to Fern. The Snoopy train approaches Hemlock with John at the controls near the same location.
Dick with his SW1500 switcher passes through Horrendous as he heads for Filmor with a full load of passengers. A long telephoto shot of Ted's train through the trees by the signal bridge as he heads for Filmor.
Frank passing through Horrendous with a smiling load of passengers, very much enjoying their ride. John just having passed through Drudgery as he heads for Hemlock with Dave Woldman as his conductor.
Back at the station, up on a steaming bay, Mike Harkleroad readies the Camelback steam engine as Josh Frank watches him. Dick departing the station once again with his train and Lou riding at the rear as his conductor.
Bill Deptowicz arriving back at the station with the Snoopy train and his passengers who look to be enjoying the ride. Skip on the approach loop behind Shriver Station as he nears the end for this trip with his passengers.
Frank with his passengers as he passes over Festival Bridge as he heads back to the station. Dick passes through Pandora and heads towards Shoe and the Covered Bridge with his trainload of riders and conductor, Lou.
Harry with the club's GP38 engine with Valerie Bilchak as his conductor watching over the riders as they pass over Cider Bridge. Our Covered Bridge that was dedicated in memory of Clyde Bleil who was one of our charter members.

Bill Besselman, seated on the left, took passenger count today and Greg loaded trains as Harry waits to depart the station. Got this nice photo of Bill Besselman as he shared a funny story with an engineer at the station.
The passenger waiting line has been run through and these folks watch for the arriving trains to unload as they wait for friends. Dick approaches the station with a trainloadarriving back at the station of riders for the public run today.
