Public Run 9/13/15

Skip Frank sits astride his tender behind his Columbia engine "Lynn" with safeties lifted and stack exhaust billowing skyward in front of the steaming bays. George Metts watches as Mike Harkleroad , who is running the engine, puts the exhaust diverter on the stack.
Richard Sales coasts into Shriver Station as he nears the end of his first run with public passengers on this cool wet day. It had rained in the morning right up to the time of the run and here is Richard coming off of the Big Bend Bridge.
Bob Craig with his scratch-built diesel at Ridgeway will soon be rolling over the Big Bend Bridge. Skip with Lynn climbing the grade at Mackey's Run doesn't seem to have a problem with the wet rails.
The sky is so overcast that using the flash in the woods makes it look like an evening shot as Frank Foti passes by Mackey's Run. Dick Clark passes over the grade crossing for the Park Access Road by the Truss Bridge.
Harry Tabor with the club's GP38 taking the grade at Mackey's Run in stride as he heads for the bridge with his load of passengers. Don Speidel with his SW9 after passing through Fern heads for the Truss Bridge and points West.
Skip after coasting down the long grade from Hilton has just passed over Bridge #6 as he heads for Fern. Bob giving a wave as he passes by Hilde Hill on his way towards Fern with his smiling passengers.
Mike coasting down the grade having just passed through Gulch with his safeties lifted and hardly any exhaust from the diverter on the stack. Harry assults the grade up to High Creek after passing over Gulch Bridge with conductor Steve Zaken and a light load because of the wet rails.
Frank just passed by Hilton and is starting down the long grade to get to Fern as he passes thru the switch for the track lead to the storage barn. Dave Woldman starting down the grade at Hilton with Valerie Bilchak as conductor.
Frank with East Wind on the Branch Line crossing at Hilton with East Wind's exhaust hiding the view of his passengers. Harry passing over the Big Wash Bridge as he heads for Hilton with a larger load of passengers this time.
Mike with his head in the escaping steam vapors from the lifted safeties as he approaches Hemlock. Skip rumbling over a grade crossing just a few minutes after leaving the station with Lynn shrouded in steam vapors as he blows the whistle.
Frank passing by Gooseneck as he starts a new run with a fairly light load of passengers for East Wind. Harry departing Shriver Station with almost a full load of passengers for his train.
Bob departs the station with his diesel powered diesel scratch-built engine powered by diesel fuel (just had to say that tongue twister). Ron Malinowski leaving the station with his electric powered switcher.
Activity at the station with Don just starting his run as the loaders, Greg Guy and Ken Brooks, get passengers loaded on Frank's train. Frank approaches the switch at Short as he gains speed on the mainline after leaving the station.
Mike Uhrich sitting in Horrendous watching the trains as the engineers don't have eyes in the back of their heads to watch the riders as they traverse the rails. Today we also had Rick Nagy watching the trains for riders leaning, turning around to talk or trying to take pictures which is a no,no!
Rick watches as Mike with the Camelback approaches Horrendous with his smiling load of passengers. Next to come along was Skip and you can see that Lynn was behaving as she wasn't producing the volume of smoke that the camelback was.
Paul Emch wasn't producing hardly any exhaust that was visable as he passed under the signal bridge. Took advantage that the sun has popped out and Frank passing by at the same location with Jen Zorko as his conductor for this shot.
Mike must like the steam escaping the safety valves as this seems to be a recurring picture, as he heads towards Filmor. Puts a new meaning to having your head in the clouds. With dry rails, Dick pulls his loaded train thru Horrendous with Paul Zorko as conductor.
Don passes under the signal bridge with the american flags which will be temporary until we get the signal lights built. I guess I was wrong, Mike can run the engine without inhaling steam vapors from the safeties.
Standing on the other side of the track I got this view of Skip passing through Horrendous on his way to Filmor. Ron passes over the grade crossing for the Park access road as he heads for Zip Junction and the station.
Ken Brooks running Don Speidels SW9 passes over Cider Bridge as he nears the end of this ride. A view of the loading area when two steam engines are in at the Shriver Station, smoke galore!
