Public Run 9/27/15

Engines with their owners from left to right, Ken Vendlinger, Ken Brooks, Frank Foti and Skip Frank at the loading area wait for their trains to be loaded. Ken with his electric powered switcher is all smiles as he waits for his passengers to be loaded.
Skip and his steam engine "Lynn" wait as Franks' train behind him gets a load of passengers as pressure builds in Lynn's boiler. Frank departs Shriver Station with the first load of passengers for today's public run.
Skip advances the throttle valve on the engine and starts rolling towards the mainline from the siding he is on. I don't know if Ken is excited to get started or whether he is just talking to his engine as the camera froze this moment in time.
John Deptowicz has just left the station and is approaching the switch to Short as he heads down the mainline. Don Speidel passing over the grade crossing for the Park Access Road that runs thru our trackage about midpoint.
Ted Nyland approaches the same crossing with his passengers riding behind his electric powered interurban. Paul Emch, with his Nickel Plate Road Hudson, has just passed through the Truss Bridge on his way to Mackey's Run.
Paul Zorko with his SW9 FireBall Express as he approaches the Truss Bridge with his passengers enjoying the ride. Harry Tabor as engineer of the club's GP38 powers out of the Truss Bridge with a trainload of passengers.
Ron Malinowski having just passed thru Fern makes his way towards the Truss Bridge as the little girl rider waves to the photographer. Frank coasting down the grade from Hilton with his passengers looking across the way to the train on Patty's Rock Bridge.
Richard Sales crosses Bridge #6 and will soon be passing through Fern and points West. John, at the same location, has just passed over the bridge as he heads for Fern with his Snoopy train.
Dick Clark with his SW1500 switcher passes thru Fern running lite and deeply engrossed in the trackage ahead. Ken after coasting down the grade from Hilton crosses Bridge #6 with his passengers as he heads for the Truss Bridge.
Don and his SW9 switcher was next to come down the 3% grade from Hilton as he headed for the Truss Bridge. Skip with his circus train and a load of passengers just passed through Gulch as he heads for Hilde Hill.
Ted with his pair of interurbans on the hill just below Gulch as he makes his way to Hilde Hill. Ken gives a wave as he passes through Gulch following behind Skip by a few minutes.
Paul just passed over the diamond crossing at Gulch with the clackity-clack of the wheels on each car over the gaps in the rails. Paul with his NKP Hudson coming down the grade from Hilton and will soon be passing through Gulch.
Ron just passed thru Hilton and is by the switch for the back yard lead to the Stanek Car Barn as he heads downgrade to Gulch. Harry at Hilton, has just passed the Branch Line crossing with a trainload of passengers.
These next two pictures show how long the line of public was waiting for a ride on the trains and the good weather helped this alot.
Judy Oscker, one of our relief conductors, was talking to some of the public in line and stepped away for this photo. Greg Guy loading a train as Edith Hacker in the foreground walks past conductors, Lou DeLembo and Dave Hird with Wayne Boron at the table.
Bill Besselman, our passenger counter today, watches as the trains are loaded with riders. Two of our "old" timers watching the loading of the trains, Dick Mackey and Bill Besselman. The two total 68 years service to the club.
Dick Mackey enraptured with the loading of a train with the public riders as the feet of the kids are checked to make sure they are on the footboards of the cars. Frank answers questions about his train after the riders got the pictures that they wanted.
Don coming into Shriver Station with his conductor Lou DeLembo amid all the smoke from East Wind ahead of him. Dave Woldman, engineer of the Park engine arriving back at the station under the same conditions.
Harry arriving at the station with Tom Reder as his conductor with the "weather" improved and John behind him waiting to ride in on the adjacent track in front of the station. John arriving running on track #2 with his riders.
