Whooloween Run - Part II 10/10/15


Members work to replace some of the candles in the little clay pots we use because if the pot is tilted in the pumpkins, we don't get the life expectivity out of them. Andy Yedlick made the wire frame for the fire ring and he and Wayne Boron work to hang it with chains over our fire ring.
Ted Nyland working on the wiring for the lights on his interurbans as the trains are being readied for tonights run. The trains are gathering at Shriver Station and the cars checked over as Ken Brooks and Jonathan Shaffer watch Paul Emch and Paul Zorko.
Ted emerges from the Covered Bridge on his first run tonight with passengers as he heads for Zip Junction. The young child is thoroughly enjoying the ride as Ken's train rumbles off the wooden deck of the Covered Bridge.
Skip Frank on his mandatory shake down run as he's coming off Big Bend Bridge with Wayne Boron as his passenger. At the other end of the 120' long span Paul Zorko with his passengers approaches the bridge running his Fireball Express.
Ted Nyland with his interurbans and riders just passing through Mackey's Run. Dick Clark and his SW1500 climbing the grade from the Truss Bridge is at Mackey's Run with Terin Hillger as his conductor.
Ken Brooks at Mackey's Run with his electric powered steeple cab engine as he heads for Big Bend Bridge. Sean Roberts on the grade crossing with his 0-6-0 steamer as he heads for Mackey's Run.
John Riba is the engineer of the GP38 as he passes through the Truss Bridge and will soon be rumbling over the grade crossing. Next to come by is Ted with a smiling load of passemngers enjoying their ride.
Frank Foti at the same lcation with East Wind, his Pacific steam engine, as he heads for Mackey's Run. Ken was next to approach this location as he was about to take the grade up to Mackey's Run.
Dick at the start of his next run passes by the tool shed with his passengers and Logan Tapolyai is his conductor. Back at the station, Mike Harkleroad starts moving with the Camelback steam locomotive with is producing volumes of smoke.
Sean Roberts' train pulling away from Shriver Station with his three passengers as evening sets in. John has been given the "All Aboard" signal and starts accelerating out of the station with Jonathan as his conductor.
Darkness came quickly and Karl Losely is the engineer of the club's gas powered switcher, waiting for Greg to finish loading his train. A view from in front of the station at the unloading point of the trains lined up waiting to move up and be loaded.
A view of the night time action at the loading area without flash as the trains are being loaded by Greg. It looks like Don Spridel at the loading zone waiting for riders to board his train.
Harry Tabor, running Ted's interurbans, waits to take on a load of passengers. Harry motors down the mainline with his passengers at the beginning of his run.
Greg loading Sean's train and giving them riding instruction before the train moves out. While Sean was waiting for his "All Aboard" signal Mike pulled up alongside on Track #2 with the Camelback, being the next to load.
Frank pulls out of the station with cylinder cocks venting moisture in the cylinders from sitting in the station while being loaded. Jonathan, as engineer of the club's GP38, checks over his riders as they are being loaded before departing.
Marie Nyland, Logan Tapolyai, Kathy Losely, Bonnie Zaken, Roberta Uhrich, our mystery person(who later said when I asked everyone to smile, stuck her tonque out at me) and Ron Trenhaile. This mystery apparition inside Shriver Station is Kitty Shriver.

Karl departs the station with another load of passengers, running the switcher. Jonathan has been cleared for his next run and slowly builds up speed as he will be running through switches to get to track #1, the mainline
Amy Deptowicz waits for the next train to arrive at the station to dispence candy with her son Austin Tapolyai. It was getting quite cold with the night air and Logan, as conductor, was bundled up for the temperature.
The fire ring was a good place to be near for some warmth and a sandwich bun with your choice of meat from the grill. Roberta and Amy wait for the last of the trains to come back into the station and unload their passengers to conclude tonights run.
