Work Session - 5/18/16

Ken Brooks taking on the duties today and cutting grass with our riding mower that Joe Laskowski donated to the club. Thanks again Joe! In this picture Ken is approaching the station by our rail fence we have there.
Frank Smoley and Wayne Boron work on the air compressor for brakes in Steve Zaken's train, trying to figure out why it won't run. Scott Hewis sold his AS-616 electric powered engine that is complete with sound and it awaits its new owner.
It is a good looking engine and has a nice paint job that makes it really stand out. The track crew spread ballast on the track coming up the slight grade out of the Covered Bridge last week and Frank Foti used our track sweeper to level it along the rails.
Here Frank is pushing the powered sweeper along the track at Shoe(only the brush is powered). Frank continues along the mainline as he heads for Pandora to level the ballast that was placed there.
Of course if you sweep the ballast thru the switches you have to clean the point of throw as Ron Trenhaile is doing here. This view of the swept track is the approach looking back from Big Bend Bridge.
The Branch Line by Guffer got leveled and dressed off with new ballast, swepted and finished off by Dick Clark as Ken runs the sweeper down Hacker Track. It looks good once the work is completed and the ballast swept down.
