Public Run - 7/03/16


Don Speidel at the controls of his train as he approaches Shriver Station before the start of the public run today. Paul Zorko with his wife Anna riding behind him as they arrive back at the station with the Fire Ball Express train.
Dick Clark passing by the station running his SW1500 diesel switcher painted and lettered for the Western Maryland Railroad. Next to arrive at the station was Dave Woldman with his RS3 diesel with Steve Zaken riding behind him.
A smiling Ken Vendlinger gives a wave as he runs past the station with Lew Fowler as his lone passenger this trip. Ted Nyland sitting astride one of his pair of interurbans and the other has been loaded with passengers for todays run.
Skip Frank with his Columbia steam engine named "Lynn" starts to roll, leaving the station with his passengers. Ken started his first run with passengers for the run today and gives a wave as he passes the photographer.
Skip on the curve behind the station will be rolling to a stop shortly and discharging his passengers at Shriver Station. Dick having just passed through Zip Junction, passes by Frank Smoley running in the opposite direction and will arrive back at the station in a few minutes.
Skip just passed through our Covered Bridge and is taking the slight grade up to Zip Junction. Ken with his passengers passes over the grade crossing for the Short Line at Zip Junction.
Dave having passed by Fern is heading for the Truss Bridge with his riders. Next to pass by is Ted with his interurbans at the same location as he passes by Richard Sales riding cars in Fern Siding.
Frank Smoley at the approach to the Truss Bridge as he runs Westbound on the main heading for Mackey's Run. Skip with Lynn at Mackey's Run as he heads for the Big Bend Bridge with another load of passengers.
Next to arrive at the same location was Josh Frank running the big GP38 running lite as he headed for the bridge. Ron Malinowski with his Roll Models electric powered switcher climbs the grade up from the Truss Bridge.
Ken Brooks running the Park's engine passing thru Horrendous will shortly start down the grade to Patty's Rock Bridge. Paul Emch with his NKP Hudson engine arriving at Hemlock, will be continuing the run towards Hilton.
Skip with Lynn sitting over the ash dump pit talks to Dick who has pulled up alongside of him as Josh listens to the conversation. Caught Marie Nyland taking water and a load of vitamin suppliments for the foilege she planted earlier in the week.
Standing on the track for Short Line I caught John Deptowicz passing by on the mainline with his Snoopy train and passengers. Sean Roberts tops off the water in the tender of his 0-6-0 steam engine switcher before his train is loaded at the station
John with another load of passengers departing the station on another run. Anna Zorko smiles for the photographer as she is the passenger counter for todays run.
Richard Sales is engineer of the GP38 starting the next run with a full load of passengers. John has just been given the "All Aboard!" call and ready to start his next run with "Snoopy" guiding his way, actually Woodstock relays the information to Snoopy.
Paul with his Hudson starts moving down the mainline after being loaded by Greg Guy. Ron about to depart the station with a lite load of passengers for his run this time around.
John Riba with his GP9 and a full load of riders advances the throttle and the sound system comes to life as the train gains speed. Ken departing the station with a full complement of riders being pulled by the Park engine.
Sean starts moving down the track with his steam engine and riders as he heads for Gooseneck and points west. Greg has just loaded Frank's train and given permission to start his run.
The attendance of the public was light at times with the line dwindling down so many just got off one train and got back in line again. Ted taking another load of riders on his interurbans as he starts out.
Snoopy with John as engineer is getting ready to depart the station with the passengers in eager anticipation. Greg waits as Jerry Bell takes over as engineer of the GP38 which has been fully loaded with passengers.
Surprise, Paul who was sitting behind Jery's train departs first in leaving the station. Richard must still be having fun as he can still smile for the photographer.
