Public Run - 8/14/16

The line for riders has hardly formed as Dave Woldman departs Shriver Station with one of the first loads of passengers. Paul Zorko with his Fire Ball Express starts rolling as he departs the station after being loaded by Greg Guy.
Next to leave on this overcast day where we encountered rain earlier is Ken Brooks with the club's GP38. Dave Woldman being loaded with his next group of passengers starts his next run as Josh Frank and Ron Malinowski, our counter, watches.
A while later, Dave leaves the station with another load of passengers. Ken Vendlinger smiles as he passes over the switch on the mainline that leads to the Orchard Yard behind the station.
Dick Clark after leaving the station on his next run, is passing by the steaming bays. Out in the woods I caught Ken with the GP38 as he passed through Pandora heading for Shoe and the Covered Bridge.
Paul Zorko was watching the train activity as Dave heads for the Covered Bridge. Mike Harkleroad just emerging from the Covered Bridge with the Park's engine as he heads for Zip Junction, westbound.
Ken Vendlinger emerges from the Truss Bridge with his passengers as he heads for Mackey's Run. Next to pass by was Dick and his SW1500 after rumbling over the wooden deck of the Truss Bridge.
Coasting down the grade from Hilton, Ken approaches the bottom of the hill near Fern. Dave as he passes Hilde Hill with his load of passengers heading West towards the Truss Bridge.
Ken, after passing over five bridges, is riding over the sixth..Gulch Bridge and will start up the grade towards High Creek. Ken coming by with his switcher as he motors downgrade just past Gulch.
Dick passing by at almost the same location as he coasts down the hill past Gulch also. Ken rumbling over the crossing for the Branch Line at Hilton as he starts down the long grade to Fern.
I think Ken's conductor, Richard Sales, is trying to tell me he saw a moose back there along the track. What else would he mean? Dave at the same crossing but from the other side of the mainline as he starts down the grade.
Ken was next to run by my location at Big Wash Bridge which the train just passed over. Dick followed shortly and his engine is on the bridge as he heads for Hilton.
Back up near the station Skip Frank was checking over his Columbia steam engine before connecting to the cars in his train. Paul Emch passed by Drudgery running Paul Zorko's Fire Ball Express shortly after leaving the station.
The wet rails from the earlier rain kept us from running longer trains but Greg managed to load the trains with the right amount of passengers. Bill Deptowicz got out from behind the camera and is all smiles as he gives Dick Clark a rest from running his SW1500.
Frank Foti pulls into Shriver Station with East Wind who is behaving with his exhaust by keeping the amount of stack smoke minimal. Paul pulling into the station with his charge of riders who will soon be unloading.
Paul takes the switch for mainline #2 as he approaches the station. Bill, as engineer of the GP38, arriving back at the station with a full load of passengers.
Another view of the passengers arriving at the station behind Bill. Dave and his passengers just passed through Pandora as they head for Shoe and the Covered Bridge.
Frank with East Wind pounding the rails as they cross over Cider Bridge heading back to the station. John Deptowicz, my son, near Shoe took these last pictures and his son Ethan took this one of his dad in the woods.
Ron, running the club's switcher, is passing over Cider Bridge across from the Covered Bridge. Dave is about to cross over Festival Bridge as he heads in toward the station.
Paul with his Nickle Plate Railroad switcher passes through Shoe and will soon enter the Covered Bridge. Kenny came by and gave a quick wave with Lew Fowler riding behind but it almost looks like he is thumbing his nose at the photographer.
Bill on the loop behind the station and Orchard Yard will soon be unloading his passengers. Frank as he coasts into the station with East Wind to unload his passengers.
