Public Run - 8/28/16


Before the start of the Public run, Don Speidel with Paul Emch was riding the rails and enjoying being at the controls of his train again. Paul Zorko departing Shriver Station with his first load of passengers after Ken Brooks loaded his train as Andy Yedlick watches.
John Riba with his train waits for Ken to finish with the riding instructions to his passengers before he departs. Frank Smoley looks over his shoulder towards Ken waiting for the "All Aboard!" call to move his train.
Chet Roberts brought his Mogul steamer and is preparing the engine for the boiler test on one of the steaming bays. Dave Woldman starts his next run with a light load of passengers as he departs the station.
Dick Clark has been given the "All Aboard!" call and is just starting to move with his load of passengers. Skip Frank checking his gages for his steamer "Lynn" as he picks up speed leaving the station.
Frank Foti with East Wind approaches the loop behind the station nearing the end of his run. Skip emerges from the Covered Bridge as he starts climbing the grade to Zip Junction
Next to pass through the Covered Bridge is Ted Nyland with his pair of interurbans loaded with passengers as Dick with his train in the background heads for the station. Ron Malinowski exiting the Covered Bridge with his riders.
Paul on the grade up to the Big Bend Bridge as he passes Mackey's Run heading West on the rails. Frank with East Wind hardly working as they approach the Big Bend Bridge heading for Pandora.
Dave with his RS3 engine, just started rolling over the Big Bend Bridge and the train will be rumbling over the wooden deck. Caught Dick in the lens of the camera with his passengers about mid-span of the 120 foot long bridge.
John approaches the bridge with Dave Hird as his conductor on the rear of the train, having passed through Mackey's Run. Marty Pinkston with his wife at Mackey's Run as they do the shakedown run required before we haul passengers.
Richard Sales rumbling across the grade crossing for the Park Access Road by the Truss Bridge. Frank gives a wave as he passes by at the same location heading for Mackey's Run.
Frank Foti's train loaded with passengers and if you look good you can see the end of his train way back there with his sister Renee Czak as conductor. Paul Emch's train is about to depart the loading area with a smiling load of passengers.
Andy and Mike Harkleroad sit on the passenger car and watch as Greg Guy, engineer of the GP38, leaves the station with a full load of passengers. Skip having advanced the throttle on Lynn starts rolling with his riders.
Ted passes through Horrendous as he motors by heading for Filmor as Paul behind him with his passengers leaves Horrendous on the way towards Zip Junction. Ron climbing the grade up from Gulch as he approaches High Creek.
John Riba with Logan Tapolyai as his conductor approaching Hilton and the long grade down to Fern. Dave with his RS3 gives a waves as he approaches Hemlock with his passengers.
Ted with his interurbans and riders at Drudgery only minutes after departing the station. Amy Deptowicz gives a wave to the riders on Paul Emch's train which just passed through Horrendous on it's way to Zip Junction.
Paul Zorko will be rumbling over the grade crossing shortly as he runs toward Drudgery and points west. Skip with his Columbia steam engine looks intently ahead at the track as he starts another run down the mainline.
Ken Brooks loading Greg Guy's train as Mike and Wayne Boron watch the proceedings. After a few adjustments to the riders seating arrangements, Greg departs Shriver Station.
With Paul watching Ken load his train, Frank pulls up to the loading area with East Wind and his empty train. Paul departing the station and you can see the end of the line of riders.
Dick Clark with Josh Frank as his conductor wait for traffic in front of them to move so he can pull ahead to the loading area. Skip arriving back to the station with his passengers, at the unloading area.
With the public run over, John, Amy and Ethan board a train for a ride around the track and pose for the photographer. Marty Pinkston brought his 3 1/2 inch gage radio controlled train and ran it in the Orchard Yard after the run.
