Public Run - 6/04/17

.
Todays public run has started off with a light rain this morning and here is George Metts' Camelback sitting on the rail waiting to be steamed up. Kevin Harris had unloaded the train to the steaming bay and is taking the incline down to the mainline.
As a train departs the station Ted Nyland holds the air hose high in the air to clear passengers before he returns it to the air column. Andy Avram of the Park service was walking one of the owls and stopped in front of the station so I could get this picture.
Jen Zorko and Renee Czak take time out for a photo before the start of the run. Ken Vendlinger gives a wave as he waits for the "All Aboard" call from Ken Brooks giving riding instructions, so Ken can start his run.
Up on the steaming bay Frank Foti is whispering to East Wind that if he behaves himself Frank will buy him another quart of boiler treatment. Kevin at Shriver Station with a trainload of pasengers is about to start his run.
Ken has just finished riding instructions as Paul Zorko advances the throttle under the watchful eye of Ted. Andy Yedlick made this lighted "drum" for the rear car on Foti's train.
Dick Clark moving out on his first run of the day with his SW1500 diesel engine and train with passengers. Having just passed through Pandora, Dave Woldman with his RS3 heads for Zip Junction.
Ken as he approaches Pandora with his passengers and everybody is smiling and enjoying the ride. Paul Emch as engineer of the GP38 rolls off the Big Bend Bridge with Dave Hird as his conductor on the rear.
Next to come by the same location is John Koontz with the Park engine and Steve Zaken is the conductor riding on the last car. Kevin as he approaches Pandora is a little over one third of the length of ride at this point.
Paul with another load of passengers approaching Shoe and the Covered Bridge is all smiles. Dick having just passed through Mackeys Run is motoring down along the track towards the Big Bend Bridge.
Dave as he passes through the Truss Bridge will soon be rumbling over the grade crossing at the Park Access Road. Ken as he approaches the Truss Bridge with the Reading switcher.
Paul just crossing over Bridge #6 as he heads for Fern with a trainload of passengers. John coasting down the grade from Hilton has just passed over the same bridge.
Next train to pass by is Paul's FireBall Express as he rolls by Hilde Hill traveling downgrade. East Wind, with Frank along for the ride, coasts down the grade with slight braking applied to keep those four long passenger cars in check.
Kevin having coasted down grade from Filmor will soon be attacking the grade up to High Creek. Dick following some distance behind is at the same location with his riders.
Paul starting the long grade down past Hilton as he travels toward Fern and the Truss Bridge. Dick departing the station with his riders as he starts another run.
Dave waits for Ken to give him the go ahead before he can start his next run. Ken V. has been loaded with passengers on his train by Ken B.(will someone change their first name?) and is about to depart the station.
Frank's train is being loaded by Ken, riding instruction given and will soon be rolling down the track behind East Wind. Ted Nyland takes over as engineer of the Park engine and waits to move the train.
Paul just starts rolling with his train as Wayne Boron talks with Ken Brooks, our train loader today. Dick Clark gives me a funny look as Roberta Uhrich tells the girls to look ahead at the photographer. Well at least Dick looked at me.
Dave starts another run and the line of riders waiting to ride is getting shorter. East Wind has been good today and hasn't emitted alot of soot from his stack so maybe Frank will get him the boiler treatment for his water.
Mike Harkleroad pulled up to the loading area, been loaded with passengers and is starting to roll. After off loading passengers with the help of Jen Zorko, John Reba pulls ahead to the loading area with Dave Cryor as his conductor.
Two ladies that are conductors for our trains, Judy Oscker and Bonnie Zaken smile for the photographer. Then we have these three sitting on the grade wall reflecting - Speak no Evil, See no Evil and Hear no Evil {Jen Zorko, Paul Emch and Mike Uhrich}.
