Nature Center Camp/Work Session - 6/21/17


Frank Foti eases East Wind down from the steaming bays to collect his riding cars for the youngsters participating in the Nature Center Camp put on by the Park. Wayne Boron as engineer of Frank Smoley's train prepares to take members for a ride as we wait for the kids to show up.
The Park personal brought the group of youngsters that are participating in the event down to Shriver Station. Frank tending to the fire in East Wind as his train is being loaded by Ken Brooks.
Frank Smoley at the controls of his train waits to finish loading and be ready to depart the station with his passengers. Paul Zorko with his Fire Ball Express was loading on the adjacent track and leaves the station.
Frank approaching Pandora with his trainload of passengers. Paul nears the end of the 120 foot long Big Bend Bridge with his trainload of riders.
Frank passing by the same location with his passengers as he heads toward Pandora. Paul, having passed through Zip Junction, is nearing Cider Bridge and the end of this ride.
Frank gives a smile as he passes by a few minutes later at the same location. At the bottom of the grade down from Hilton, Frank coasts with his train towards Fern.
Next to come by at the same location was Paul with his trainload of passengers heading for Fern and the Truss Bridge. Frank was next to arrive by the photographer's location as they passed from the shadows into the bright sunlight.
Frank coasting down from Filmor will soon hear the barking exhaust as East Wind puts his shoulder into climbing the grade up to High Creek. Of course diesels don't bark, you just hear the throttle advancing as Paul runs his engine.
Frank running over Patty's Rock Bridge with some of the riders pretending the ride was like a rollercoaster. Frank passes through Horrendous with the riders dealing with East Wind's smoke in their own way.

Frank at the same location heading down the grade towards Filmor. Back at the station Frank and Paul take on more riders for another run around our layout.
Frank leaving the station since his train was first to load passengers. After Paul's train finished loading and the passengers were given their riding instructions, Paul advanced the throttle and left the station.

Frank rounds the curve coming into the station at the end of his run. Paul arriving back at Shriver Station will soon coast to a stop to discharge riders.
With the last train of passengers passing by the work train, Dick Clark and John Riba take a load of dirt down to the new siding by the Truss Bridge. The dirt dumped on the right-a-way for the siding.
