Today is Bug Day at the Park as members finish eating lunch prior to the start of the run. Ted Nyland with his pair of interurbans takes one of the first loads of passengers at the start of the run.
John Riba with his GP9 puts his train in motion with Dennis Crislip as his conductor riding on the last car. Ron Malinowski departs Shriver Station with his trainload of passeengers after Ken Brooks, our loader, gave him the "All Aboard!" call.
Dick Clark with his SW1500 diesel engine was the next to leave the station after taking on a load of passengers. Anna Zorko is our passenger counter for todays run and Bonnie Zaken is keeping her company.
Dick Scott with the club's GP38 leaving the station on his first run today. Ken loads passengers on the train as Frank Foti checks his watch to see if he and East Wind will be able to leave the station on time. Not really, he's checking his cell phone.
Frank with East Wind as he passes by in front of the steaming bays with his trainload of riders. Bob Craig has finished loading and starts his train down the mainline.
Dave Woldman adjusts the speed of his engine to get his train moving after taking on a load of riders. Ken finishes rider instruction as Frank Smoley waits for the departure call.
Ted waits to be loaded with riders after Judson Elliott with the club's switcher, leaves the station. John Deptowicz and his Snoopy train passes by Pandora as he heads for Shoe and the Covered Bridge.
The East Wind train passes by the photographer as the train starts over the Big Bend Bridge. Dick with his train on the Park Access Road crossing as he heads for Zip Junction.
Dick passes by Zip Junction after emerging from the Covered Bridge with his train, heading towards Horrendous. Back at the station Judson waits as Ken Vendlinger gives a wave starting his next run.
Frank sits with his train as Dave Woldman gets a point across to Dick before he leaves with his loaded train. Ken after loading passengers, gives riding instructions to Daves' passengers.
With his train fully loaded, Frank starts another run as he leaves Shriver Station. Since it is Bug Day, Bob Craig decorated his diesel engine accordingly with what else, but giant bugs.
Dick leaves the station with his passengers and Dennis at the rear as conductor. Bob Craig advances the throttle on his engine and on the last car, Donna his wife is his conductor.
Judson puts the train in motion after taking on his passengers and heads down the mainline. Kenny is all smiles as he starts another run with the Reading switcher engine and trainload of passengers.
Ron gives a smile as he passes by the photographer gaining speed with his train. Ted gets his interurbans rolling as he starts another run with his passengers.
Bill Deptowicz at the controls of the Snoopy Train giving his son a break and a chance to stretch his legs. John waits for Ken to finish his talk before he can start his next run with his full load of passengers.
Frank with his East Wind Express departs Shriver Station a minute and a half late and will probably have to make up the time during the run... even though we don't have a schedule. Dave arriving back at the station on mainline Track #1.
Bob with his train has just passed over Cider Bridge and will be arriving back at the station shortly. Frank at the same location and you can see the Covered Bridge in the background.
Kenny just passed over Festival Bridge and he and his riders give a wave as they pass by. Bob Pakeltis with Adam Pakeltis riding behind him and his passengers pass by the same location as they head back to the station.
Bill with the Snoopy train as he approaches Festival Bridge heading West. Ted at Shoe will soon be rumbling thru the Covered Bridge and be at the half way point of the run.
East Wind has just passed by Pandora and is approaching Shoe and the Covered Bridge with his riders. Dave following a distance behind, arrives at the same location a few minuted later.
