Whooloween Run - 10/21/17

.
The kids looked great in their costumes as they wait in anticipation for the train ride to begin. Dave Woldman has just left Shriver Station with a full load of passengers.
Dick Clark was next to pass by the photographer after taking on a trainload of passengers. Judson Elliott with his electric powered boxcab heads down the mainline with his family of riders.
Ken Vendlinger departs the station with his passengers as our train loader, Ken Brooks, waits for the next train to advance. Frank Foti will have a couple of minutes to tend to East Wind before riders unload from his train.
Anna Zorko is our passenger counter for todays run and makes with a smile for the guy with the camera. This is not what it looks like, they are not about ready to start drag racing.
Frank puts East Wind in motion with safety lifted and the steamer barking with stack talk as the engine puts his "shoulder" into moving the trainload. The loaded passenger cars as they pass by me.
Ken finishes riding instructions to the passengers as the conductor, Valerie Bilchak wets her throat so she will be able to whistle if she needs to. This youngster heralds a Blaze outfit and they are all smiles as the train starts.
Sean Roberts has been given the clearance to start his run and he cracks open the throttle on his steam engine. The passengers on Sean's train with the anticipation for the ride ahead.
The costumes that the kids in attendance had on were colorful which made it all alot nicer. Ron Malinowski begins his next run with his riders as twilight sets in as darkness approaches.
Ken takes time to talk to the riders as some have a preference for the train they would like to ride on. When possible we try to accommodate their wishes.
For this event, patrons have to make reservations ahead of time for the time slots that the Park sets up and has a set number available for each. A time shot for the activity at the station.
With the camera flash we see Dave as he waits for Ken to call out "All Aboard!" so he can start his run. Judy Oscker going into the station to get more candy that she is helping with for the riders as they finish the run.
Now this is an enterprising outfit with a railrod theme complete with crossbucks, lights and the crossing gate using his arm. Ted starting his next run as he departs loading area with his passengers.
The way the Park controlled the attendees limit every half hour, we would have a few minutes to relax in between run times. Tonight we had the real wolfman in attendance, not like last nights run.
Judy bundled up against the coolness of the evening as she waits for more riders arriving back at the station. Jen Zorko assisting with the unloading of the trains and taking pictures with riders cameras.
East Wind arriving back at Shriver Station emerging out of the darkness and he brought back Frank also, as members wait for the train to stop to assist with unloading. One of the pumpkins that was out in the woods for viewing.
I had to hunt down the owl carving to see how it looked with candle light. This next pumpkin says it all!
This picture gives you an idea of how the pumpkins were generally set out along the tracks. This is the bat sitting on the smaller pumpkin carving using flash.
This is the same pumpkin illuminated by the candle within. A view of the tracks leading away from the station in this time shot.
Costumed passengers on Ted's interurbans that arrived back at the station took time out for a photograph. See, we can have happy pumpkins that don't have to be scary.
Now this is different and I haven't been able to figure it out. Ohh hummm, the run is over and I guess I'll try to get some sleep! Thank you all for your attendance on a chilly night.
