Rail Fest - 3/14/15

We had an ample amount of members to "man" our display tables for the 2015 Railfest Train Show. The Park had a photo display for "Riding the Rails at Penitentiary Glen" with some of the pictures from over the years we've been running out there.
Linda Harris, Bonnie Zaken and Steve Zaken along with Kitty Shriver and Rick Nagy are currently attending to the display tables. We had a TV monitor running with videos of some of our past runs and rambles.
This is a steam driven air compressor in 1 1/2" to the foot scale on display that will be mounted on the side of a boiler of a live steam engine. Some old memorabilia and one has numbers that were put on an old license plate that was used formerly for a car.
A machined driver for a live steam locomotive that is under construction, along with its journal box for the axle. A massive trailing truck casting of cast-iron that still has to be machined for its journal boxes and holes for mounting.
Steve Zaken brought his miniature workshop that he machined up from kits along with the many driveshafts to operate the equipment representing an old workshop. Roy Harris, his wife Linda and Bonnie Zaken answered some of the many questions that were posed to them.
A view down the display table of the many steam engines and artifacts of days gone by. The area we had for the 1/8 scale engines and cars was much smaller this year but we made do and they drew a lot of interest.
At times the area was a beehive of activity and kept Ken Brooks busy answering questions posed by the attendees. Here they're looking at the live steam Camelback owned by George Metts that was on display.
Frank Foti brought his little live steam 2–6–0 mogul that he has been updating lately since East Wind is all apart getting new tires on the driver wheels. Ken Brooks had his steeple cab on display, which is electric powered, running on two batteries.
Edith Hacker, Dick Clark and Paul Emch behind the display tables, field questions from the public as the assortment of items on display seemed to be very popular. Edith, Dick and Paul during a quiet moment with Roy Harris' chassis in front of them.
Roy, Linda, Bonnie, Steve and Kitty during a lull with many of the steam engines and steam item displays in front of them. A view looking down all the tables that we had for display with the LSLS members sitting behind the tables.
Ken was kept busy and enjoyed the conversation from the attendees as they watched some of the videos that we had on display. A graphic pose, speak no evil, see no evil and hear no evil by Edith, Dick and Paul.
Attendees looking over the display of pictures set up by the Penitentiary Glen Park at one end of our display. After the show we had our club meeting at Penitentiary Glen and here some of the members are helping themselves to the snacks that were provided.
Members helping themselves to the treats. A view of the table showing some of the treats that were available to snack on.
A view of the meeting room as it starts to fill up as the members come from either supper, from home or the show. A view from the other side of the room looking back towards the snack table.
John Koontz waiting for his receipt from paying his club dues as Maggie Dellmore, seated, makes out the receipt as Paul Zorko, Dave Woldman and Dave Cryor wait to pay their dues as Paul Emch and Andy Yedlick set up for the meeting. Maggie reading the minutes of the last meeting.
A view from behind the officers looking out at the members in the meeting room. A view from the back of the meeting room showing how the Park had decorated the room with the trees and clouds.
