Lake Shore Live Steamers > Images

Railfest 2008

Because of a sprinkler problem the displays were smaller this year and this is a view down four of our tables. Some of the steam engines that Robbi Haines and Roger Harnish brought in for display.
Jon Jaros brought his Northern that has been under construction for several years. Frank Foti brought his Pacific "East Wind" which facinated some of the attendees.
Bill Deptowicz brought in his scratch-built interurban chassis of the 150-159 class of Lake Shore Electric cars. Rex Shriver behind the monitor showing videos and Lou DeLembos' steamer that he is building.
Kitty Shriver, Roger Harnish, Robbi Haines and George Metts "manning" the display area to answer questions. The little table top steam engines running on air seemed to be the attention grabber for the young ones.
Bob Davidison displayed some of his live steam collection of engines and rolling stock. Jon standing beside his Northern that last weekend he raised steam in the boiler for the first time.
Richard Sales brought in his electric powered engine he manufactures so that someone can get into the hobby relatively inexpensely. I think we have a Gremlin in Paul Emch's NKP caboose.
Yep, I think Paul's caboose may be infested, Oh well, another project. John Deptowicz, center, answering questions with Rex watching the camera man.
A gag presentation for Edith Hacker who painted five of our club buildings and yes it is battery operated. John discussing the construction and features of the Snoopy engine complete with a sound board.
A view from the other end of the table showing the displays we had. Linda Harris seated behind the table with some of their engine collction.
Kitty and Robbi were knitting tubular scarfs and thats Roger, all smiles. As Kitty reponds to questions you can see the myrad of tubing from several manifolds thta were supplied by a compressor we had outside a nearby door.
It was surprising how many people didn't know that our track is about three miles from the show site. Frank Foti ran the DVD that WVIZ aired on tv about our club trackage and interviews with some of the members.
It was a good show in spite of the reduced display area, especially to show our running equipment. Mike Uhrich brought his elecyric Box Cab which shares the same chassis design as the Snoopy engine.
Mike Uhrich talking to George Metts, this end, had his plant engine running on air driving a motor as a generator to power a L.E.D light bar. Another view of our lobby display.
Bill's interurban chassis and the plan sheets and photo on display. "East Wind" said she is waiting for Frank to build a fire in her boiler and start our running season.
