Work Session - 3/23/11

Steve Zaken painting his box car cover orange with a gray roof as Paul Zorko looks on. Dick Clark looks over some of the parts to the power axle with it's bearings and chain sprockets as Rick Nagy views the effort.
The parts needing to be scrubbed and degreased as they are laid out on the paper towel with the disc brake parts in the foreground by his hand. The guys trying to figure out which side of the disc brake the larger hub should go on for the proper clearance.
Bill Deptowicz and Ted Nyland watch as Dave Foster marks where the hole goes in the angle mount for the air horn and you can see the gas tank mount is off the engine. Dick is measuring the axle to fasten the chain sprockets in their proper location with the sprockets set screws.
Bill took the gas tank mounting plate, drilled the hole and had the angle welded to the plate as Dave strips the wire for the compressor with George Metts, Ted and Joe Banzer looking on. The compressor mounted on the angle among the clutter of the hydraulic hoses.
A view from the other side showing the air compressor hanging off the gas tank mount. Dick and crew got one of the axles back together with the wheels pressed on and the disc brake and chain sprockets in position on the new axle.
