Work Session - 3/24/10

Steve Zaken finally got his Plum Cove box cab shipped and started to put it together. Dave Foster, Steve and Dick Clark taking a look at the horn button on the shifter lever of the Park engine which finally gave up.
The horn bracket for the new location in front of the engine that Bill Deptowicz and Ken Brooks made last week. We have to get a pipe plug for that unused line on the air manifold.
Bill Deptowicz squared up the chassis on Steves' box cab chassis and took it over to the welders and had them weld up three sides leaving the one side removable. The guys trying to figure out the wiring and how to remove the horn button.
Dick drilled the chassis to add nylon zip ties to support the air line tubing for the brakes and it now grinding the self threading screws that penetrated the floor. At least Dick was consistant and did it at both ends of the car. Maybe it was planned to keep your feet from sliding of.
Dick fastening the air pressure gauges into the control panel on the engineer car. Dick Schmidt spraying on a primer sealing coat to Steves' box cab wooden sides.
Dick running the air line from the storage tanks, the fill valve and to the gauges and brake control valve. A view of the control panel for the brakes with tank pressure at 75 pounds and brake pressure to the wheels holding at 42 pounds max.
