Club Run - 4/13/13

Richard Sales brought in a power truck he was working on that you would put into a car to give you a boost when you needed it. A closer view showing how he routed the chains and you can see the solenoid that engages the motor when needed.
A view from the other side of the power truck showing the motor and how it's mounted off the axle. Well, today was a club run even though it was cold. We still had a pretty good showing and here comes Frank Foti with East Wind arriving back at the station.
Rick Nagy arriving at the station, all bundled up against the cold with the club's GP38. A view looking inside Bob Craigs rail bus showing the batteries, speed controller and the vertical motor that passes through the floor to drive the rear axle.
Members watch as Bob closes up his rail bus with the bench seat over the power area. Frank making adjustments as East Wind lifts his safety and in this 40° weather the steam vapor really shows.
In this view, taken from the Middle Yard, Frank Foti is westbound with East Wind as he passes Richard Sales eastbound heading back towards the station. Dick Clark approaches the signal post to clear the block that he is about to exit as Frank waits in the distance for the white signal light.
Frank having acquired the block signal moves forward with East Wind as we pass him on the adjacent track. Arriving at Filmore we encounter a red signal indicating the block is occupied and shortly Ken Vendlinger comes by with his train and will clear the block signal.
Kenny reaches for the signal post to clear the block signal and Dick will reach to his right to acquire the signal after it shows a white light. Kenny gives us a wave after clearing the block and Dick has acquired control of the block and we will soon be moving his train and there is a light rain falling.
Dave Mroczynski approaches the photographer with his train with Trevor Smith at the controls as engineer after just leaving the station. Dave Hird and Ted Nyland were two of the people that braved the cold the come to our club run today but they could be warmer in the station having that conversation.
Dave Cryor is at the controls of Steve Zaken's train as they approached the grade crossing for the Park access road on the mainline, having just left the station. Chris Cooper brought his train and that's his wife Dena walking alongside, probably just to keep warm by generating some heat.
Chris has taken the switch to Short with his train, but he looks cold even if he is enjoying himself. Up on one of the steaming bays, Skip Frank readies his engine as he has Lynn steaming up behind him with his riding car in front of the engine on another Bay.
Dave and Trevor take time out from running as Ken and Bob roll into the station with their trains. Bob smiles for the photographer as he sits astride his rail bus as he starts his next trip around the track.
Dave enjoying a cup of coffee and I think Trevor is cold but they still stayed to run the train some more. Ted talks to Skip up in the steaming bays area as Lynn's boiler pressure rises and soon she'll be moved out onto the turntable that she's aligned with
In the station Paul and Anna Zorko in the background with George Metts, Judson Elliott and Judy Oscker keep warm and behind Judy is the old Park sign that we salvaged when they dismantled it. Caught Anna smiling as Edith Hacker looks at the photographer as if she startled. It was a cold run, but a fun one.
