4.17.05 Earth Day Run

Earth Day and the public has formed a line in front of our train station. Chet Roberts with his steam engine leaving station as Rex Shriver watches and prepares to depart
Chet in a cloud of steam while blowing the whistle at the grade crossing at Zip Junction. Rex with his electric powered switcher with a happy load of passengers.
Ted Nyland brought his pair of interurbans and is approaching Horrendous. Marty McGaun taking the newest engine for club use on a test run before loading passengers.
Marty starting down the Hill at Twin Oaks. Kevin Harris on the club engine about to depart with another load of passengers.
Marty unloading at the station with the line for rides in the background. Dave Foster and Bill Besselman handling the unloading area at the station for Rex's train load.
From left to right back row, RC Yedlicka, Tom Reder, Peter Petras, Paul Emch and George Woodling. Front row, George Davidson and unidenified couple. Waiting for passengers to load.
RC in white hat, our ride counter, has a few moments as Chets engine waits and Marty pulls out with his trainload. Jon Jaros on the club's SD38 moving up to load passengers.
Dave on the SW1500 and Matt Philpott with his electric cab being loaded by Roy Harris in red cap. The line was fairly constant but was kept moving by Roys' adept loading of the trains.
Bill Bodemer on the Conrail switcher and Tom Pappas on his Nickel Plate switcher wait to be loaded. James Bradley with his CliShay on the inner loop behind the station.
Paul and RC watch as Tom departs the station with another load of passengers. Bill waits for a complete load as Marty hangs back with his train to clear the loading area.
Jon about to depart the station and the line is getting shorter. The unloading area in front of the station was always busy with trains arriving and departing.
The end of the line is in site and only a few more trains are needed. We gave 670 rides in 2 1/2 hours today. Tom helps Dick load his train as Don Speidel heads for the station.
