Ethan Deptowicz ready to take the Snoopy train around the track as soon as his dad joins him. Earth Day dawned a cold overcast day with the temperature at 36 degrees as Rick Nagy pulls into the station with the first load of riders.
Mike Harkleroad at the controls of the Park engine as he slows for the stop at the station. With Snoopy on the track behind the station he gets the attention of some youngsters.
Kevin Harris(with back to camera) is joined by Linda Harris to do the loading of passengers and Dick Clark, against the station, is keeping passenger count today. Frank Foti with East Wind blasts out of the covered bridge and look at the exhaust coming out of the cupola.
Skip Frank with "Lynn" on their way back to the station is about to cross over Cider Bridge. Frank with East Wind showing off her steam vapors on this cold blustery day.
It doesn't look it but Ken Vendlinger really has passengers behind him as he passes through the covered bridge. Scott Hewis at the controls as his trainload of passengers exit the covered bridge as they head for Zip Junction.
East Wind with her whistle blowing for the grade crossing of the Park access road is almost hidden in steam vapor. Moments later Frank is at the grade crossing.
Jeff Ridler all bundled up against the cold as he passes thru the truss bridge with his charge of passengers. Ken approaching the grade crossing with his electric powered switcher.
Rick with a full load of passengers rumbles over the truss bridge on his way to Mackeys' Run. Ted Nyland with his pair of interurbans coasting down the grade from Gulch crosses over Bridge #6.
Ken Brooks on the Big Bend Bridge, that is 120 feet long, with his trainload of riders. John Deptowicz with the Snoopy train at the center of Big bend Bridge.
Rick at the same location with a full complement of passengers and Don Speidel as conductor. Ted passing over the bridge with his passengers clearly enjoying the ride even if it is cold.
Ken with a cold group of passengers trying to keep warm until the ride is over. Mike on the bridge but his passengers don't look as cold as Kens' passengers did.
Frank just coming off Cider Bridge on his way into the station. John with his Snoopy train as he heads for Zip Junction.
Back at the station Ethan got his first horse ride and you can see by the smile that he is thoroughly enjoying it. Bill Deptowicz with Ethan, his mom Amy and friends head out on the main line with the Snoopy train.
When the weather is at 36 degrees and you are moving between five and six miles per hour the wind chill gets to you. The last run we made for the day had Ethan taking his grampa for a ride but I think Ethan was thinking that this is too cold.
