Earth Day Public Run - 4/19/09


Wally Pausch coming into the station with his wife Emmy behind him prior to the run today. It's an overcast day today for the run but the trains are assembling even with the threat of rain a little later.
The engines in the station yard wait for their engineers and the start of the run. Ethan Deptowicz posing for a PR picture alongside of Paul Emch's NKP caboose.
Skip Frank checks the fire in his steamer as Robbi Haines and Dave Foster take time out for a picture. Skip tops off the water in his tender as Robbi gives instructions to the riders on his train.
Dick Schmidt watches as Robbi loads his train with passengers. John Deptowicz with his Snoopy train leaving the station with his first load of passengers.
Wally waits for the "All Aboard! from Robbi before moving his train. Rex Shriver heads for his train as Skip checks out his engine and Judson Elliott glides to a stop in front of the station after his run.
Out in the woods Rick Nagy is just crossing Big Wash Bridge as he starts his descent down the grade towards Gulch. Richard Sales, "Mr. Motion" coasts down the grade at Filmor with his charge of passengers.
Judson Elliott heading for the Truss Bridge with the Park engine and Scott Hewis on the rear as conductor. Following behind and crossing the Truss Bridge is Rick and the GP38.
Standing at the Short cut-off track I caught Dave with his speeders and passengers. With Rick and Judson waiting to load you can see the passengers waiting at the station to board the trains.
Ken Brooks waits for Robbi to finish loading his train as John and Snoopy wait for their passengers. Linda Harris at left talks with Rex as Paul Emch's train loads with riders.
Rex waits as Ted Nyland gives riding instructions to the passengers. Rick has a load with the three eight foot long riding cars behind him that Bob Charles Bassett, standing in creme colored shirt, has just loaded.
Bob and Ted are loading trains and John is heading out for another run. Mike Uhrich pulled into the loading area and passengers have started boarding his train.
Richard with his laid back engineer's riding car just looks too comfortable. Still can't see the end of the line in this view and we are getting some sprinkles of rain.
In spite of the cool weather and impending rain Paul can still smile as he departs for another run. We have the light drizzle and Rex has his controls covered for protection against the rain.
John starting his next run with Snoopy's dog house a little on the wet side. Paul's train is all loaded and Lou DeLembo is the conductor at the rear car of all the pasengers.
Jerry Bell takes over operations of Mike's train and is all smiles. Dapper Dan, better known as Jake Knox riding the rails behind the station while plotting his next "Sting".
Even with the light rain the public waits patiently for a ride on our miniature trains. Bob Charles Bassett as engineer, passes over Cider Bridge on his way back into the station with Judson as his conductor.
Skip adjusts the throttle on "Lynn" as he slows for Festival Bridge and the switch immediately after it. Richard in rain gear as the skies have finally opened up and it is raining pretty good as he puts away his equipment.
