Work Session - 4/20/2011

With heavy rains during the night and early morning, along with showers in the late morning, there wasn't a whole lot we could do on the track today. Two views from the top of the Gorge showing the fast running water 100 feet down below.
Telephoto view of the fast running water at the bottom of the Gorge creating rapids. The Woodling Bridge at Canal had fast running water draining towards High Creek but it didn't wash out the embankment.
Dick Clark took the opportunity between the rain showers to oil the switch points at Hilton where the Branch Line crosses the Main Line. Dick checking the throw linkage for proper clearance when throwing the switch.
Dave Foster worked on grinding the reinforcement bars for the new lift ramps to clear the concrete pad at the Stanek Car Barn. A view of the grinding action and because of the rain we didn't get much done today.
