Public run - Earth Day 4/21/13

Ken Brooks' recently refinished caboose sits on a siding by the train station. Back by the Stanek car barn, Logan Tapolyai and John Deptowicz ready the Snoopy train as they connect safety chains and brake airline hoses.
Out on the steaming bays Skip Frank leaning on his engine "Lynn" talks with Ken and a guest and it looks like Lynn is ready to run. In front of the station, Mike Harkleroad on the parks diesel engine talks with members as Ray Dellmore in the conductors outfit loads Frank Foti's train.
Passing through Zip Junction on his way back to the station, Rick Nagy as engineer of the club's GP 38 nears the end of his run with a full load of passengers. Paul Emch with his Nickel Plate Railroad switcher with Frank Smoley as his conductor, is about to pass over Cider Bridge.
Ted Nyland with his pair of interurban's as he rumbles off the Big Bend Bridge as he heads for Pandora with his passengers. Almost at mid span of the Big Bend Bridge, Scott Hewis passes by with Lou DeLembo as his conductor and his passengers who were bundled up against the cold brisk breeze of today's weather.
Frank Foti passing through the Truss Bridge with whistle blowing and East Wind's exhaust vaporized in the cool air as they pound the rails crossing the bridge. Dick Clark coming down the grade by Hilde Hill with Steve Zaken on the rear as his conductor and it is definitely a cool day back here in the woods.
John Deptowicz coasts down the grade from Gulch towards Hilde Hill with his Snoopy train and his load of smiling passengers. On the diamond at Gulch, Frank coasts down grade with East Wind with brakes applied as he heads for points West.
Ken Brooks having passed through Hilton starts the grade down towards Gulch with his trainload of passengers who are all smiles. Climbing the grade up from Gulch headed towards High Creek, Ted nears the top of the grade on the sweeping curve.
Sitting in his laid-back engineer car, Richard Sales having just passed through Hemlock is on his way towards Hilton with his passengers. John is all smiles as he departs the station on his next run with Ted ready to move to the passenger loading area.
Dick with his SW1500 rolls into the station at the end of his run were Pam Znidar and Judy Oscker assist with the unloading of the passengers. Bill Deptowicz on the back side of the loop behind the station is at the controls of the Snoopy train giving his son John some relief to stretch his legs.
Taking a distant shot, we see Paul Zorko as he heads for Shoe after having passed through Pandora with his train. Dick really looks cold as he passes by with his passengers as he departs Zip Junction on his way back to the station.
The inside of the Covered Bridge frames the photo as Ted approaches Shoe on his way towards Zip Junction westbound on the mainline. Paul will soon be rumbling over the Cider Bridge as he heads towards the station near the end of this run.
Bill with the Snoopy train and his bundled up passengers passed through Zip Junction as he follows some distance behind Paul traveling ahead of him. Frank with East Wind as they come out of the Covered Bridge and by the lack of the exhaust off of East Wind I think he's hardly working.
In the distance, Mike Harkleroad at the controls of the Park engine passes by Shoe on his way through the Covered Bridge in a stark scene with the naked trees. Coming off the Festival Bridge, Karl Losely with the GP38 passes through Thorn with Jennifer Legan as his conductor riding on the rear car.
Mike Harkleroad as he cuts the throttle to the big engine as he heads for the loop around the back side of the station with Dave Cryor as his conductor on the rear of the train. A few minutes later Dick passes by the same spot and you can see Ted with his interurban's about to pass through the Covered Bridge in the background.
Bill with Snoopy train and his passengers has just passed Pandora will soon be passing by Shoe on his way to the Covered Bridge. Ted at Pandora looks cold and all bundled up and I wish it was just a little warmer today for our riders and engineers because of the chill factor when your moving.
Paul passing over the Festival bridge as he heads for the loop behind the station as he nears the end of his run. Bill following behind with the Snoopy train has already passed over the two bridges and heads for the station to discharge his passengers.
Ray Delmore, dressed up in his conductor's outfit, loaded the trains for us today and here he poses for the photographer after the end of today's public run. After the run this was some of the activity in putting the trains away in the Middle Yard.
Two Pacific's reposing in the yard after the run with the closer one being Paul Emch's Nickel Plate Railroad Pacific and 3712 being the Boston and Maine's East Wind Pacific owned by Frank Foti. A budding engineer under the watchful eye of Jennifer as they take the train down to the yard switch to put the equipment away.
Caught Logan at the controls of the Snoopy train as he followed some distance behind to put the Snoopy train away too. Two cabooses are resting after the run prior to them being put away in the storage barn, the closer one is the Park's caboose and the Nickel Plate Road caboose belongs to Bill Deptowicz.
Mike helping Skip Frank load his engine into his trailer after the run by using the transfer table lift. On one of the steaming bays I caught Frank brushing East Wind's teeth so they'll be nice and clean for the next run. I wish to thank John Deptowicz for taking the pictures while I ran his Snoopy train.
